Novembers doom any good?

Eh I think it's all a matter of opinion. I know of alot of Opeth fans who've complained that their show is "boring" or unexciting, and then I've heard other fans say that their show is mesmerizing. I personally have always loved Opeth live, but also as a musician I am paying more attention to their playing and soloing, etc., than their stage movements or lack thereof. This whole thing is just a matter of personal perception and what have you. I've gone and played shows where I felt that I, to put it frankly, rocked the fuck out LOL But then I see reviews of the show from people who are fans of ours, saying "yeah their set was laid back" or whatever, and I'm thinking "what show were you watching??" haha Ultimately at the end of the day, as long as someone says that the band is good and that they support them, that's what matters most. Whether its Opeth fans or ND fans, people are going to view and hear things differently from one another.

Of course its a matter of opinion, its just that in my opinion his opinion sucks. :p ;)

You know what they say, Opinions are like assholes. Everyone has one and they both stink!

That being said, I am not going to retract my statement.
I love Opeth. Ghost Reveries will make my top 10 list for 2005 for sure.
They play great live, but the "show" itself is not something I would classify as exciting.

I feel the same way about Dream Theater and Nevermore.
Love them both, but for some reason the live show falls flat.

These bands all play amazing live.

I have never seen Slipknot live (thank god) so I can not comment.
I have seen GWAR though , and next time I see Opeth, they better shoot fake blood and semen into the crowd!!! NOW THAT WOULD BE A SHOW!!!

haha, now imagine that for a second!!!! But comparing the lamentations-DVD to the Were You There-DVD from Anathema, Opeth has a warm and intimate relationship with the crowd. I saw Opeth, Anathema and Gwar all live, though not in that order and not on the same location. I can say that I'd choose to see Opeth again if I had to pick one of them. Is Gwar still "alive" anyway?

I think Gwar has a self released album. I don't think they are on Metal Blade. I am not a fan. They happened to be on the bill for a couple shows I had been to in the past.

so i checked the music out and i like it. ill be a regular listener. i heard alot about novembers doom but never really though about listening to them. i bought the newest album and i enjoy it alot. Thx guys

You know what's funny? I have the link in my sig.. and we've been posting in the same threads for a while.. Click the link.

Subterranean Masquerade kicks arse I have no problem with his vocals...I love them and the music itself!! A Paul Khur fan right here..

Every one of us in ND, with perhaps the exception of Vito, have been fans of Trouble since the 80's, and they were a big influence on us musically for sure. I think the influence has been more apparent in recent times than on our older material.

Trouble is one of those bands where I sometimes forget they are local!!!
I actually only saw them once live opening for Slayer.
I recall them getting boo'd. I never really knew why.

Because at that time, Slayer was GOD, and NO ONE opened for them without being boo'd. I was in my glory. Trouble and Slayer in one show. I was quite upset to see them get boo'd off, but I knew it would happen. It may not have been like that everywhere, but Chicago was Slayer town. I've seen bands like Megadeth get destroyed with sod opening for Slayer on the Clash of the Titans tour, others boo'd like Motorhead, Testament, Danzig, Celtic Frost, Overkill... Just unreal. When the crowd chanting "SLAYER! SLAYER!" is louder then the band playing, it's serious shit. Seeing Slayer was an experience that was amazing. It's not like that anyore though. Ahh... The good old days.
