I guess you meant Benighted, Face of Melinda is that song which has an extremely beautiful ending riff. Sometimes I confuse those two.

I love Opeth. Havnt listened too them in awhile. I've just had alot of other bands to listen too, but Blackwater Park is a masterpiece and My Arms, Your Hearse and Ghost Reveries are good too.

Dunno how anyone can call them shit, but to each their own.

Not the best band ever. Not even in my personal top 20 favorite bands of all time, but they have done some nice work. Blackwater Park was the last album I truly enjoyed. I kind of got bored with them after that. Apparently their newest album has a lot of great proggy stuff going on but I'm afraid to listen.

I probably will...eventually It's not in my top list of albums to check out, but a friend with taste in metal very similar to mine said it is very good.

I didn't read this thread, but I do like Opeth a lot actually. I am aware a lot of their albums lack focus but when they make a good song they make a good song. Newest album is really good. Wayy better than fucking Heritage (which i disliked). Much more focused. It's a shame he's not interested in making DM anymore. Unpopular opinion alert: But i do truly believe if any band could create an interesting DM fusion album that would push the limits of DM it would be Opeth, imo. Probably won't ever happen.
