I'm slightly appalled by the choices in the OP.

Not going to lie, I have a soft spot for Fairyland; but there's no way that Pathfinder or Rhapsody of Fire should even be on that list (or Fairyland either, if I'm being objective).

I can't pick a song, but it would probably come from one of the following albums:

Virgin Steele: The Marriage of Heaven and Hell releases
Kamelot: The Fourth Legacy
Kiuas: The Spirit of Ukko

Hmmmmm.... I didn't see much American style powermetal there like Armored Saint, Metal Church or even more modern dark/American style powermetal bands like Tad Morose etc.

I also don't think anyone has mentioned Running Wild. They wouldn't make my "greatest ever" list, but I am a bit surprised no one has brought them up.

That's because it generally sucks in comparison to European Power Metal.

Well, that is certainly simply an opinion. While I don't typically like to categorize everything, it is a bit of a necessary evil at times. I think there are two discreet forms of power-metal (though certainly many bands also make the line quite fuzzy) and it just seems as though the dark powermetal wasn't given any choices. My vote is Tad Morose from Sweden.........

Very good song from Iced earth you imbedded btw........
