Hi, Theocracy and all who call here home. I have about 6 days worth of progressive metal on iTunes at home. But...

IT'S NOT ENOUGH!!!

I'm a huge Theocracy fan and I can't wait for the new CD! But in the meantime, does anyone out there know of other Progressive/Melodic Metal that has Christian influence?

And, Matt and Band, is it okay for me to ask? :err:

I feel stupid trying to recommend prog to you when you have that much already :D
But a great band, lacking Christian influences, to my knowledge at least is Italy-based Pathosray.

And here's a neat method of finding new bands, go to metal-archives.com and when searching with details, check Progressive metal, and Christian (in the lyrics section), that'll give you something to hunt about.

Tourniquet is a great Christian metal band that currently has 7 albums. Their albums fall into three sections: Their first three albums are pretty straightforward neoclassical/thrash metal; their fourth and fifth album (after a singer change) are more hard rock-oriented; and their sixth and seventh albums (my favorites) are more on the prog side, and still with lots of thrash influence. Their sound is a little less melodic (they have lots of intense, thrashing riffs and harsh/shouted vocals (but still lots of clean vox)) but they're definitely influenced by prog metal and neoclassical (they put lots of classical music stuff in their songs).

Future's End, Myrath and Edgend then. THEY ARE PROG! ...but more symphony x-ish

When it comes to christian prog you should never forget to mention "Torman Maxt". Even their other albums have a better sound i still love their first album the most. it´s called "Just talking about the universe...so far".
And the most unbelievable thing : You can download their albums for FREE from their website :

Pathosray is a Christian band? Nope, I sure didn't know that. Have to check them out. Thanks!

I love Symphony X, though I don't care much for their lyrics. lol

Are these bands Christian theme? I listen to lots of nonChristian stuff too, but right now am kind of looking to get more of the message of Christ into what I listen to.

Thanks

Ooh, Teramaze sounds very good. The vocalist for Veni Domine is pretty amazing too.

7 Days is pretty rockin' too. Thanks! Before I go spend a lot of money, do any of these bands have "Growlers?" you know those RAH RAH guys who sing like James Hetfield after smoking 7 packs a day for 10 years?

Love, Darkwater, love Shadow Gallery--so sad to hear about their vocalist.
