Pick your favorite Immortal album

A few years ago I would have said "Pure Holocaust" without batting an eye, but I really think I have the go with ATHOW now. It is most awesome indeed. To be honest the only album I'm not really a fan of is Damned in Black, never could get into that one.

i have no idea wtf you're talking about ...besides the dark/darth feud.

They've basically used the melody of the Imperial March from Star Wars in one of the songs from Pure Holocaust. Can't remember which one though, but it's really obvious and I was all "wtf" the first time I heard it

As for the poll, choosing wasn't very hard and I went with AtHoW. That album is solid. I really like how the song length is perfect, it never gets tedious and there's always enough time for the songs to develop in full. Besides, the songs are brimful of awesome riffs, Abbath's vocals are wonderfully raspy and the production is warm and thick, without taking away that Blashyrrkian winter atmosphere.

My favorite album changes with time, my mood, etc. I went with Battles In The North because I have been listening to it quite a bit lately.

Immortal is one of my fav BM bands, it's so hard to decide on *one* album that I like... I had to go with AtHoW - but it was a close one with PH and BiTN

All the Immortal albums vary enough from each other enough so that they are all good for different moods. It is hard comparing ATHoW to an album like Battles in The North because they sound so different.

Oh believe me, I'm well aware (I own every album), I just don't recall being as enthralled with it the first few go arounds (I probably was listening with a short attention span though). Given the attention it receives, it clearly warrants a re-visit.
