Post your Hauls!

Nice haul o_O I'm not familiar with too many though. Please do post some reviews if you get a chance.

Well many of those bands I found them through MySpace and the CDs through CDBaby.com (great for indie releases).

Viron, Omen, Laaz Rockit and Candlemass need no review I guess. Conditioned Response is a band I checked several years ago through Molten Metal (a place I use to buy a lot online), but never decided to get the album. Ten years later I discovered a great prog/power band worth to be checked.

Scale The Summit is instrumental prog metal in the vein of Planet X or LTE but maybe less stravagant. LoNero is a band self-called guitarcore as you can guess the "core" thing made me tremble, but once I check the samples I decided to take a plunge and I'm gald I did it. Think Joe Satriani mix with prog metal, all instrumental very guitar driven of course and pretty enjoyable if you're into Satriani, Vai, MacAlpine, etc. like I do.

I've listened to the Viron once but need to hear it some more.
I was impressed with The Ordeal. Sounds to me like they've included some borderline core:yuk: & though I generally strongly dislike any kind of core & crunchy riffs there's something about this album I actually like.

Viron did click with me, it's alright power metal. But The Ordeal between the vocals and some of the songs survived in my collection by the minimal scale. Is one of the many bands i have that I accepted one album but need no to check them afterwards or before, one is enough for a lifetime :heh:

OLYMPOS MONS Conquistador One of the best debut CD's I've ever heard. An unexpected find for me.

SLOUGH FEG , THE LORD WEIRD Down Among the Deadmen Superb !!! I like this one better than the newest one.

SONATA ARCTICA Reckoning Night + 1 bonus I think this was their best though many disagree.

STEEL SEAL By the Power of Thunder - Still undecided about this one.

THE ARMADA Rage of the Armada - Another awesome underrated CD.

:headbang: TIMELESS MIRACLE Into the Enchanted Chamber - This is a fantastic & fun album. It's really a brilliant work though probably too happy sounding for many metal fans.

:zombie: TOTAL ECLIPSE Ashes of Eden - I hope you like this one... I didn't like it at all - I can't get past the whiny dragged aout vocals.

TWELFTH GATE Threshold of Revelation I just ordered this one - Don't know what to expect.

NP: LoNero - 'Listen'

I haven't been listening to too much prog metal in the past few months though I'm certain my interest will rekindle. I seem to enjoy it more in the winter months for some reason. I never really enjoyed too much total instrumental stuff. I like some of it but never could listen to it for extended periods.

NP: Seventh Wonder - 'Waiting In The Wings'

Hey MetalAges, when you get around to listening that John Macaluso album (I do understand if that may take a while ) be sure to post your thoughts, I've heard a couple of tracks and they were very much in the ARK vein (awesome, that is).

Will do!

I listened to it once through so far (although it wasn't a thorough listen) and it isn't too bad! Very diverse album really. I'll post more when I listen further.

So far have listened to:

Avian - From the Depths of Time (awesome!)
Timeless Miracle - Into the Enchanted Chamber (very anthem like, from a prog point of view, unique power/prog metal)
Silent Force - Worlds Apart (Anything with DC Cooper is hard not to like!)
Steel Seal - By the Power of Thunder (see above! At times has a slight old Riot vibe)
Fairyland - The Fall of an Empire (If you like Rhapsody, you need this)

Armored Saint - 'Revelation'
Hammer Hawk - 'Breaks Loose'
Iron Clad - 'Lost in a Dream'
Jaguar - 'Power Games'
Riot - 'Sons of Society'
Rival - 'State of Mind'
Stormhammer - 'FireBall'
Tank - 'Still at War'

Nice stuff. that Rival is great one Sixxswine got me into it. That jaguar is a classic but it would have been better to buy the Neat 2 CDs compilation have both Jaguar albums from the 80's and the 2000 "Wake Me", in its enterity.
That Stormhammer is their debut and their best, oif you like those then get the others if not don't bother with the band.
As for Tank do like me GET ALL OF THEM (except for the self-titled that is nowhere to be found) :headbang:

NP: Brain Surgeons NYC - 'Dark Secrets'

Danzig-Lost tracks...... holy shit, this is great!

Bon Jovi-Lost Highway---I love Bon Jovi... DON'T love this album, too country for my taste, I maybe like half the songs... dissapointing.

Been on shuffle since the haul came in so but Rival did catch my attention on a few occasions. Got that on my burn For Car list so I can give it a very loud & thorough listen.
I tried several times to order the Jaguar Anthology - it Out Of Stock. Picked up power Games at a real good price. Least I know now it's worth pursuing the Anthology. Sounds like really good stuff.

That was my first Tank CD & judging from that I'll be very interested in getting more. I had one Stormhammer prior to this one & liked it enough to try another. Haven't had a chance to really check any of the new stuff out thoroughly enough in this haul due to my hassles with the new cable setup but I do plan on dedicating this holiday W/E :p to catching up a bit.

See ya soon at ssk I hope - Think I got it up and running again.

The compilation is good because has the debut, the sophomore album which is weak and cost the band their future (so they split), and the reunion album "Wake Me" which is very good. So I bought that and their last album "Run Ragged" (great metal!) and I have all their material :D

NP: Nasty Savage - 'Distorted Fanatic'

Nasty Savage - "Psycho Psycho": now the collection is complete :D
Metalucifer - "Heavy Metal Hunter": finally I have all their studio material.
Savage Steel - "Begins With A Nightmare": I never though I would find this, have this for years as MP3s and finally found it on CD.
