Here's my concern.
I don't yet know if all of my crew is driving down, or if part is flying and part is driving. Also, if they fly, I dunno which day they're flying down... Thursday morning, or Wednesday night.
I don't wanna buy excess tickets if they can't make it, and I don't wanna buy too few tickets if they can, and then they gotta camp out somewhere else while I'm in there enjoying it.
I'm just trying to be fair, here. If something awesome gets announced, but I don't order tickets cuz plans are not 100% confirmed, it's not exactly cool. I know Jeremy and I will be there Wednesday, but that's all I'm completely sure of. And I don't wanna screw my friends by forgetting them, nor screwing others out of a chance if I get 5 tickets but waste 3 of them. Yeah yeah, just sell them at the door, but that's not fair for the guy who wants to get the tickets ahead of time like I do.
I'm only trying to be fair here, please don't take this wrong. I'd love to tell the others, "Hey, Wednesday night is gonna have X band! You really NEED to confirm Wednesday night!" But they won't commit unless it's someone they'd want to see. Yes unfortunately, as much as I want to say we do, not EVERY artist is one we're all in unison to see without fail. That's why we've got 14+ bands to see in one week, and heck, even if it's a 75% ratio of bands I wanna see compared to 25% I don't care for, that's still an amazing and impressive festival!

You are skating around exactly why I am not announcing the show up front. I want those that were coming no matter *who* is playing to be able to get the tickets first. Those are the ones that have already booked flights based on karaoke alone. It's only fair to them since they have already spent money on the flights.
If I would have announced this in addition to the karaoke from the start, then it would be a different story.

If Wednesday's event gets started at 8:00 pm, how much time will be left for karaoke after the event is over, but before The Vinyl closes? I assume that the event would be about a 2 hour affair. What is bar time at The Vinyl?
10pm-1am/2am (if anyone stays that late).

This just gets more exciting! What's really great about this is that my girlfriend and I won't have to miss it now that she can work things out with her class schedule. Whatever the mystery act is, we'll be there!

Glenn, did you mean the tickets will go on sale July 23rd? if your announcing the show on June 29th and tickets go on sale June 23rd, that would be a strange sequence of events? Just trying to clarify things...Thanks

No bear. The tickets go on sale the week before (June 23) I announce what the show is. That gives those that had planned on coming for karaoke alone a chance to get tickets first. Please see my responses to Bryan in this thread for further explanation.

This may have been posted already (I didn't read this whole thread)...could it be (speculation begins) a Circus Maximus listening party with the band?
I have received a few emails asking about the annoucement if the show sells out prior to June 29th. I'll be shocked if it does, but I will indeed go public asap in the event that happens.

I'm very excited! As Met-Al mentioned, my class schedule works out so that it won't be a huge detriment for me to go to the Karaoke night. And I was excited about that alone, this just makes it even better!

What I can confirm is this:
a. Some will think this is better than anything going on at the festival. I have a friend flying in from California for this. He had no plans to attend the festival otherwise.
b. Some will think this is rather cool and they will enjoy it. It will be well worth the $15.
c. Some will say "bah, that sucks and I'm glad I'm not going."
d. Some will be really pissed that they cannot attend.
