Propose a potential realistic lineup here!

 Is the song NEMO seriously based on this guy???

You decide
This is me for forever
One of the lost ones
The one without a name
Without an honest heart as compass

This is me for forever
One without a name
These lines the last endeavor
To find the missing lifeline

Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
All I wish is to dream again
My loving heart
Lost in the dark
For hope I`d give my everything
Oh how I wish
For soothing rain
Oh how I wish to dream again
Once and for all
And all for once
Nemo my name forevermore

My flower, withered between
The pages 2 and 3
The once and forever bloom gone with my sins

Walk the dark path
Sleep with angels
Call the past for help
Touch me with your love
And reveal to me my true name

Oh, how I wish...

Nemo sailing home
Nemo letting go

Oh, how I wish...

You can't please everyone, but maybe this lineup would have some wide appeal around here .. who knows? This wouldn't be mu actual lineup if I had total say, but it might be one that is half way workable, and would provide a little something for everyone .. kind of.

Friday:

Beatallica - they are from Milwaukee or Madison .. fun stuff .. a good kickoff band for the fest
Wolverine - been wanting to see them for quite some time .. moody, dark, progressive stuff
Jag Panzer - very underrated legends .. would love to see them live again
Amorphis - a wide appeal band who is coming off a couple great discs
Candlemass - a little doom for the fans

Saturday:

Novembers Doom - some good death stuff in a bargain spot
Primordial - some Celtic black metal
Mystic Prophecy - good ol' heavy edged power metal
Turisas - Epic battle metal
Nevermore - Progressive thrash power stuff

your saturday is good asides for Nevermore headlining....but then again, I would be gone after Turisas. cool that you have them there!!! maybe that will get them noticed by Rob and Chris!!!! The Americans wants Turisas!!!

I think Nevermore would headline over Turisas .. especially in the US. Still though .. Turisas has a real strong internet following, and I bet if they were announced for a US fest folks would show up. I've been studying myspace profile hits of late, and some of the findings were interesting. I did a random selection of bands some huge, some with decent drawing potential, and some of the smaller bands. Here's what I found.

I've added the date that the page was created. Time obviously has an effect on the number of hits, but outisde of a ba d or two I don't think it's a huge factor in regards to this list.

Lacuna Coil (3/28/05) 3,143,710

It's not the most scientific thing in the world, but it does give some indictation into internet popularity, or perhaps that some bands have younger/more interenet saavy fans than others.

Ok buckaroo..
Now you have put me in full fanboy rant mode here....

This would be Nov Doom's THIRD Powerfest appearance.
Last year they held the number 2 spot.
So one year later you knock them down to Number 1??!!!???!!

I am just bustin' your chops.
I know you certainly didn't mean it as a downgrade.

In all honesty Britt, financially your line-up could never happen.
WAY too many overseas bands.
I do like the diversity in bands though.

Be careful my friend. That is a dangerous concept right there.

Diabolik (Bob) and I can tell you this from attending last year's Alehorn of Power Festival.

On paper, it had two of the biggest Internet hype bands, in Manilla Road and Slough Feg. This did not though generate a good turnout whatsoever.

According to the myspace hits theory neither band you mentioned would be much of a draw.

Slough Feg 34,307
Manilla Road 26,665

Yeah, I toyed with the idea of going with more US bands like Icarus Witch, Agent Steel, Helstar, and even Lizzy Borden, but I just don't think they would draw.

With sponsorships this year it might be possible to take Powerfest to the next level .. we'll see.

Britt

Edit.....I put those bands I mentioned to the myspace test, and a couple had suprisingly high totals.

Lizzy Borden 68,000
Icarus Witch 67,673
Agent Steel 38,972
Helstar 35,279

Of course a band like Turisas with a younger fanbase would have a higher My Space hit than Candlemass.

What is the My Space count for TROUBLE? Just curious.

I'd go see Candlemass any day, but I definitely have only hit their myspace once. But there are some bands that I have checked their myspace out plenty of times just to listen, but still wouldn't really want to see them live or anything (or at least wouldn't go out of my way to see them).
