Rap/Hip Hop

Okay seriously, Blue Scholars are AMAZING. (and they're local-- to me, at least, I'm from Seattle). Everything they write has meaning.
They're definitely worthwhile

Also, sorry, but I can't embed the videos here :'(

I've always liked rapever since I was a child. The old stuff is better then the new stuff, like Snoop Dogg, Naughty By Nature, Ice Cube, etc.

There's only a few rap songs I like on the radio...The rest is just annoying like Ludacris.

so i just ordered 36 chambers... what should i be listening for in this? i know its considered a classic and i want to approach it with the right frame of mind

It's just a good solid hip hop album, nice and dark, but with plenty of tongue in cheek-ness. Tracks like Protect Ya Neck and Da Mystery Of Chessboxin' are just flat out awesome rhyming over minimal dark beats.

i'm working on my fourth listen... it's growing on me... it only cost me two bucks actually so... like it or not its a good deal!

As I started growing and found who I was (musically), I always thought to not like rap. But, for the last few months I have just goofed around and would play it. Like, when I play some Xbox Live or drive around or just hangout. But, I been really digging Bone Thugs N Harmnoy and Chip Tha Ripper.

Just discovered these guys:

Massive tune! Love the old rock samples and live rhythm section. Gotta get the album asap.

Anyone here listen to German Hiphop? I just got a hold of Bushido's third Carlo Cokxxx Nutten (titled "2" for some retarded reason, that's his second CCN2) and it's alright..but man do I miss the first CCN, that's some great hiphop for any fan of the genre. I have a hard time understanding the lyrics because I'm not fully fluent in German yet I still like it, so I still strongly recommend it for non-German speakers as well, the flow is just mindblowing!

Zappa and Hendrix, possibly the origional rappers, and the only ones worth listening to, just my opinion of taste of course.
