Recabinet 3.1.1 - now with Speaker Dynamics

I just bought a house and will have a 4.8 x 4.3 m room to set up as my music room, we move in in a month and this will be my first purchase since Sept 2011 when I had to pack everything up. Can't wait!

Also, bring on the cab sim shoot out.

There have been some comments that cab IRs don't respond very well to heavy EQ sculpting (as opposed to mic'd cabs), how does the new recabinet handle this now?

Truie, check my latest post in this thread RE using the Jet City with impulses:

No worries dude, TubeTown ToneHound is with me, so that I'll always record the poweramp out :headbang:
I don't even need a cab anymore as I'm forced to make silent recordings.

Still happy with your JCA50H ?
I've recorded a test with that setup + Torpedo PI-101 (mix is done, Ill do the master tomorrow).
Then I'll try a reamp with Recabinet 3 !!

Hey Shane,

Just a quick heads up. In Studio One 2, Win7 x64, the key-file or demo prompt appears behind the Studio One window - I had to ALT+TAB to access it.

@Truie: what DI box do you use with yours?

Just bought Recabinet 3 and I'm pretty excited about it! I also own Torpedo P1-101 which is great too. Both seem to complement each other.

I use an Avalon U5 in parallel :
8 Ω output 1 > Tone Hound
8 Ω output 2 > U5 Speaker In > Portico 5012 > Fireface400 Line In > DAW

I think PI-101 and Recabinet 3 with this new feature are the best cab sims on the market (and I agree that the cabs available in each soft complements each other really well).
According to the pricing, Recabinet 3 is a pure winner !

AFAIK, Presonus is in the process of addressing issues like this with Recabinet and other plugins that use the same GUI framework (Slate, etc.)

An external IR loader that can use the speaker dynamics algorithm would make this perfect *cough* subtle feature request *cough*

I just bought it as well, the new feature is amazing.

It can be used either way. Incidentally, the metal clip in the video is just an ENGL e530 preamp into Recabinet.

I really like the tone of that metal clip, I have an e530 too, can you share your settings?? (preamp as well recabinet settings)

Did you apply some sort or FX to the chain?

I know these sound as noob questions (in fact they are!), I'm tring to get a decent guitar tone these days, I have the HW & SW equipment but I haven't still the skills, so I'm just searching for something to steal, eheh !

Thanks!

In that clip it's an old set of DIs I recorded with my LTD F-2005 with EMG 85 in the bridge position. On the e530 I'm on lead channel with hi gain switch on, have the lead gain all the way up, all EQ knobs about 7/10, contour switch enabled. In Recabinet 3.1.1 the presets from the clip in the new video are included as "Dynamic Metal."

No post processing other than Slate FG-X on the master bus for loudness.

PS - I use JJ/Tesla 12AX7s in my e530. The stock tubes in the unit are ok, but the sound really opens up with the JJs.

Thanks!

Thank you for sharing!
I have replaced the stock tubes with JJs as well (a common practice for e530 owners I guess) and I have a similar guitar (LTD deluxe VIPER 1000).
At this point I have no excuses: I can reach that tone!
Thank you again, I will post soon some clips
:kickass:

just a thought, cant the speaker dynamics algorithm be used as a plugin on miced guitar tracks? if you have a track where the amp wasnt cranked, it lacks some grit because of the lack of movement of the speakers.. cant the algorithm help with this?
