obvious opeth album order in goodness:
still life
my arms, your hearse
blackwater park
ghost reveries
damnation
deliverance
watershed
morningrise
pale communion
orchid
heritage
A virtually impossible task, but mine would be something like this:
Great/classic/changed my life:
Blackwater Park, Deliverance, Damnation, Morningrise.
REALLY good:
Ghost Reveries
Orchid
Good:
Watershed, Still Life.
OK, somehow never really got into:
My Arms, Your Hearse (disappointment after Morningrise, which for a long time was my bible, still can't really get into it), Pale Communion (first and last song are alright), Heritage (totally partial towards it)
It's weird doing this, cause many albums have taken years to grow on me (Deliverance, Ghost Reveries, BWP too), for several years I thought Morningrise was forever going to be my favourite, but the past years I find myself playing Del, Dam & BWP mostly. But after the concert last month I played a lot of Orchid and Morningrise again and now with the remixes I listened to Deliverance a lot again. Leading up to the concert I listened to Ghost Reveries a few times again and also had newfound appreciation for it. Then I watched the BWP documentary and it's BWP again... as you can see, it changes a lot
Anyway, Opeth has been part of my life for many many years. Saw them live some 10 times at least. Amazing band.
