Hrm... I've heard it. It just seems like Sentenced has very well written music, catchy, evil, but it's just not sticking. I'll give it at least 3 more spins, because you make it seem so good.

EDIT: I got the Demigod Shtuff and Convulsed.

Sentenced is good stuff, but The Funeral Album was down right awful.

Sentenced is good stuff, but The Funeral Album was down right awful.

i never really liked the last vocalist they had at all and i think that that is was hurt my overall impression of the band. i liked the music, i liked the lyrics, but the vocal delivery was always very second rate HIM to me. if they could of found someone like the guy amorphis have on their new album then i would love sentenced. that guy sings kinda low but at least he can sing.

I'm not sure my views yet on newer sentenced. I do think the band was done with death metal too soon. I think the band could have written one more album like north from here.

That's a great gorguts song but never upload 128 again or else!. you've been scorned. If anyone wants some Gorguts I have considered dead, the erosion of sanity, and from wisdom to hate and will not be a lazy shit in the mp3 department like krig.

A great song indeed. I also checked out some of their other stuff and I rather like it.

More recommendations needed: technical death metal. I'm already familiar with (late-era) Death, Atheist, Nile, and Necrophagist. Any good bands I'm missing out on?

Technical? Pavor. They've been mentioned a few times in this thread already, I think. They're pretty much the most technical death metal band I've heard, and the bassist is by far the best I've ever heard.

Tell me guys something about Unholy Ghost and their album Torriental Reign. I listened only to "Soul Disment" from this album and I think it is very good.

they could have but perhaps that wouldnt have been as musically fulfilling to the band members as trying something new. i'm more suprised that they didnt try to build on what they did with amok rather than just move on to down and onward stuff. perhaps losing their vocalist led to this?
