Can you people recommend me your top 10 oldschool death metal albums? I have been on a death metal spree as of late. Also include some others that are worth mentioning but may be not as popular (or otherwise wouldn't make it on your list). Thanks in advance.

You'll probably be well familiar with at least the majority of my top ten, but here are some really good ones you might not be familiar with:

Sempiternal Deathreign - The Spooky Gloom
Disgrace - Grey Misery
Mordicus - Dances From Left
Rottrevore - Iniquitous
Lemming Project - Hate And Despise
Liers In Wait - Spiritually Uncontrolled Art
Ceremony - Tyranny From Above
Repugnant - Epitome Of Darkness (actually a newer band...this was released last year, and the band split now)

Do you still think so? I just listened to it for the first time the other day and thought it was really great.

Im looking for a new power/progressive metal band that has catchy/cool sounding melodies and semi-high pitched vocals
some bands i already like are:
Stratovarius
Sonata Arctica
Rhapsody
Heavenly
Dragonforce

any suggestions?

Think Slaughter of the Soul with even more annoying vocals.

@Agoliant Lives: You do have great taste :kickass: . Although I am not a big fan of Vile. I got Depopulate and it really bored me.

Thanks. Vile's latest album, New Age of Chaos, progresses outside the boundaries of brutal DM to some extent. In fact, there are some slow riffs throughout the album and overall, it's slower than Depopulate. You might want to check it out.
