hi guys, this is my 1st post , although im a regualr visitor but this time i needed some recommendations , i recently heard testament - Demonic and it was superb , i basically want to know other similar bands who play some insane heavy death metal but at the same time there shuld be a meaning to it and not pointless riffin and growling, like demonic was brilliant, looking forward to your responses , thnx :)

...and if you like the Ildjarn you should also check out Biosphere - Substrata, given that Ildjarn's ambient work is heavily influenced by it.

Random recommendation:

Dark Lunacy, an awesome band with massive "brutal" riffs and death vocals with some gothic and classical influences. A very unique sounding band...

I listened to their latest album "The Diarist"....and I personally can't get into it. Some of the outside influences are kinda cool but the vocals, I just can't stand them. They vocals are the type that you'd find in a metalcore band....

I think their vocals are very emotional but very brutal not in an overly harsh way like metalcore vocals.
