Exactly. Tons of great melodies and guitar harmonizing that is godly. A lot of death metal and metal cds have two of the same guitar tracks and the karelian isthmus basically has 3 guitars and two guitars that a lot of times are playing different parts that still fit perfect and you know it can't be that easy either. I remember when first getting into the karelian isthmus and was discovering different things for weeks.

Bingo. I just think that album is incredibly boring. When it comes to death metal, I like tech death and some brutal death. I also like grind but that's not really death metal although some bands come damn close.

I naturally love complex music so I have always enjoyed tech death

though like any other genre, there are plenty of shit bands in the genre.
