everything now days is boring and poppy, no balls at all.
My 3 favorite PM bands are Lost Horizon, old Heavenly, and Blind Guardian.

Seeing's though this is the powermetal thread...it's a bit sad and disappointing that there has'nt been more investigation into the more underground PM bands of the decidedly non-gay....Solemnity/Twisted Tower Dire variety.Despite the awesomeness of Lost Horizon i'll bet my bridges that every band mentioned on this page are of the cheesey keyboard variety.

I'll admit that I'm a sucker for cheesy sugary power metal with happy choruses. But that doesn't mean I rule out the ballsier take on the genre. Hibria, for example, is the bee's knees.

There's Luca Turilli's Rhapsody album coming up this year. Although I'm not too hopeful for it, new singer sounds ok and songs are pretty much what you'd expect from the band. Here's a preview for anybody interested:
