Review the last movie you saw thread

Had a bot of a movietastic weekend. Watched Zack and Miri Make a Porno and Ghost Town on Saturday. Really enjoyed them both. Funnier and more entertaining than I thought they'd be. Although the ideas in Ghost Town are nothing new, it's still done very well. And I love Ricky Gervais so he can do no wrong in my eyes. :D

Saw Burn After Reading last night. It was ok, nothing special.

Of the three I would purchase Zack and Miri. It appeals to that part of me that is in fact a teenage boy. :)

I have attempted to watch TWBB 3 or 4 times, guess you have to be in the mood for a long movie to start with, Daniel Day-Lewis is one of my fav actors, because he isn't in many flicks, but always makes a brilliant performance when he is there

I finally got around to watching Highlander two nights ago. Ended up watching until the 'climax' and fell asleep.
Last night I finished watching it.
That's two nights of my life which could have been better spent watching grass grow.
It's almost as bad as Caravan of Courage.

just watched Platoon on Foxtel and still regard it as an amazing film.
honestly one of the best Vietnam war films made, up there with Apocalypse Now (Redux).

it is also Oliver Stone's best movie and features some of my all time favourite actors, including William DeFoe, Forest Whitaker and Richard Davis (famous for playing Goliath in the cartoon series Gargoyles).

if you haven't seen it and the battle for Charlie Sheen's soul by the DeFoe and his Underworlders and the self rightous Tom Berenger, do yourself a favour and go out and grab it.
well worth the watch. :kickass:

honestly, I can't pick any other film of his that I like.

they tend to lose the point a fair bit -especially Natural Born Killers which I find pretty overrated.

JFK was good but got to dense with the conspiracy.
U-Turn was very odd and convuluted.

but The Doors, Wall Street and Salvador are good films that I haven't devoted much time too.

his Bush biopic didn't get screened long here, so didn't have a chance to see it.

so, IMO, Platoon is still his greatest work.
