So, interesting, Opeth want to make a Blackmetal-influenced pseudo-evil album? I won't stand in their way. If they feel the urge to do so, they can. Since the release of Deliverance, I don't have any expectations to them anymore. I remember the concert I visited in February; I wanted to get aggressive when he announced that "A Fair Judgement" would be the last song of the show (except "Demon of The Fall" of course)...
So, I'll keep on glorifying and sanctifying the first five albums and let them continue doing their thing without me being a fan. Maybe they can make something good out of the idea, i.e. if they use the Blackmetal-influences in order to make it darker and to put some more aggression into it at some places but without giving up their unique feel and the melancholic atmosphere. But I seriously don't believe they will make it, sorry...
