Saddest thing you ever heard?

One of the saddest things i ever heard.... comes from my brother all the time.
This is from the guy that basically got me into metal... with old metallica etc.
He always says to his freinds "Ah, Kegan listens to all these death-metal bands like nevermore, that sing about eating baby's feet"
I was listening to Machine Head - Burn My Eyes a week or so ago, and he was like "Oh, this is the kind of music that I was into when i was your age... ", and he then preceeded to say hom much he liked the cd, and that it was 'his era of music'... and he actually went out and bought the cd a few days ago, and has played it no stop. Go figure?
I was playing the second half of the cd last night... and he walks into the room and cracks up laughing, and makes some wise-crack about "...All that death metal growling".
You should have seen the look on his face when i took the CD out of the player and showed it to him, and it was machinehead, the exact same cd he had just bought and supposedly 'loved'.

Saddest thing said regarding Opeth?
I recently saw a post on a trendy metal board that asked:
"who would win in a battle of bands, Opeth or Otep (crappy, talentless nu-metal band)"
responses... no joke:
--"how can u compare? otep of course..."
--"Otep by far..."
I know it's quite sad, but one guy was cool enough to say:
--"Opeth
It really takes something to make song after song averaging 8 minutes and not get boring or totally repeat yourself constantly."

I guess I didn't phrase that right. What I'm trying to talk about is all those kids who have Cradle of Filth shirts they bought from the mall and don't even know what Black Metal is. Whether CoF is Black Metal or not doesn't really mean shit with the point i was trying to make.......By the way, I still think/KNOW they're Black Metal.
