Everybody knows that the new last.fm is shit but they actually keep adding some old features so it might get at least usable. Yesterday I noticed that album covers are displaying again in the recently played box for example. Events should be working by now as well. Obviously most of the shit that made the site great is still gone, but adding cover arts will definitely be one of those eventually restored.

I miss several things. 1) The search function is absolute crap. I try to tag my albums according how they're named in the last.fm database so they at least scrobble correctly (this is tedious with classical music tbh), but now when I search for an album only 5 most relevant results are shown and very often these don't contain what I look for. And you can't browse the rest. Plus when typing a name of a band or composer in the search field it doesn't give you suggestions so you have to go through one more page for no fucking reason. 2) You can't even browse your library alphabetically or by tags, so tagging pretty much lost its point + tagging artists is stupider now, no suggestions again and you have to write everything down like it's the nineties. 3) When browsing artists you don't see who of your friends scrobble them and how much, which was pretty neat. There were more functions in the right sidebar and now there's just ads and an empty space.

I'm not even going to comment on the design we all know it's ugly and looks like an unfinished page.

tldr I think that if they keep adding features of the old page it might get almost okay.

When I firstly saw the beta version which everyone could test when the old, better version was still available, I thought god forbid them to introduce that new shit. What the fuck is it though, I can't even sort the gigs by genre or even by the city or region. And it's disturbing because I used to find many great events w/ last.

Yeah the site was good for finding stuff, now it's not. it's like they didn't understand why the site was popular.

I'm curious to see if they'll atleast make the decision to allow us to use this layout or the previous one. Cause it seems the majority of people dislike the new layout.

The next update will be "mostly about image galleries and uploading" so I think it should finally be possible to upload covers for new albums. The recently played module is all good now tbh, it shows the covers, it shows up in the correct "artist - track" sequence" (so many people complained about this) and you can even change the number of tracks displaying.

I think most of the stuff will eventually come back and we will just have to get used to the design. For what it's worth it really does work nicely on mobile.

You just go to your library, choose last 30 days option and copy the first ten bands on your list together with their images. Not a big deal mate.
