I think Slipknot are an amazing band. Somehow, I get the feeling that if they weren't commercially successful then you'd all be kissing their ass...don't spout the "sellout" bull, surely it's the music that matters, not how successful the band is?

If Slipknot wanted more money and publicity they would have shedded of 4 members like they where asked to by Roadrunner, they told them to go and fuck. When Slipknot done their underground work for a few years they worked as hard as any other band to get where they are.

Somebody please explain what there is to like about Slipknot. I don't care if they're mainstream, or if they wear masks. Basing it solely on the music, I find them utterly boring.

Well i agree with C-Taylor.Slipknot helped me get into all kind of heavier metal music.Nirvana and Metallica was the bands who got me into rock and metal.But slipknot got me into Death and Black metal.Slipknot was never the band i was after but when ur 13 years old and watch alot of Televison Slipknot have the image of people hating and brutal metal.I Sold all my nu metal along time ago and now im mostly into Brutal death metal and NSBM.

slipknot were my gateway to cradle of filth which were my gateway to were i am today. now i find slipknots music terrible and boring although the song purity aint too bad. aparently their debut mate feed kill repeat was proper underground metal with solos but i never got round to hearing it.
