..so you went to AA show, great, so how was it?

Hmmm. You could get there by train. Not sure by bus. Take the L.

Get on at Midway (orange line). Take it to Roosevelt/State. Get on the red line, and take it north to Belmont. It'll take a bit over an hour I'd say.

That's what I shall do then. I could always get a rental car but it's not adventures enough.

Thanks for the info. I hope I find a motel within a walking distance, otherwise I'm screwed.

Oh, I'll be easy to spot wearing leather armour.

"You don't know shit, Lebowski..."

There's only one thing I'm not sure about. On the map it looks as though there are two stations...roosevelt/state and roosevelt/wabash. The orange goes to roosevelt/wabash...but you're going to want to continue North on roosevelt/state. I'll ask around to see if they are two seperate stations or if they're the same.

Ahah! I figured it out. They are two seperate stations, but they're very close to each other.

Map: http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.adp?go=1&&1a=1167%20S.%20State%20Street&1c=Chicago&1s=IL&1z=&1y=US&do=nw&2ex=1&src=maps&ct=NA&2a=22%20E%20Roosevelt%20Rd&2c=Chicago&2s=IL&2z=60605%2d2434&2y=US&2pn=&2l=ESWWVyFJmE0%253d&2g=MfMoCzSvJzw%253d

BTW: The L is $1.50 each way. Since you'll have to switch stations it will be $6.00 from Midway to Belmont and back.

the show last friday was awesome. after the show we got a taxi driver who drove a black Lincoln Towncar and he let us listen to whatever we wanted to he also turned out to be my neighbor and gave me his cell phone number and said that if I ever needeed a taxi to just give him a call...he also gave me ciggerettes. at first I was worried he was gonna like rape me or some shit but then his girl freind called so that made me feel more safe. and thats all I have to say about that

Tell us about the show.

The Show was fucking awesome. Goatwhore opened they were good. but then when amon amarth came on I became the tallest person in the room... partially because I was standing on the the metal bars right in front of the stage. when the music started i went fucking nuts... I grabbed on to my Mjolnir Pendent and started screaming along with all the songs. People tried to push me but I wouldnt budge. The whole band recognized the fact that my friend rob(bassist for my band Burning Creation) and I were the biggest AA fans in the club and possibly... no definately San Francisco. It was fucking insane... I tried to talk to Olli at one point but Im not sure he understood me or maybe just didnt give a shit, which is totally reasonable. Last time I saw AA a got a drumstick and rob and I got beer poured on our heads. both shows ruled all other shows Ive seen including; Halford, Testament, Maiden, Exodus, and Death Angel. I think thats pretty impresive for a kid who'll be 18 in 4 days... so yeah it was fucking awesome

If I can help with anything else, let me or another Chicago person know.

Once again BIG thanks. Ok, I'll have about 6 or so hours to kill so the question is are there any good metal stores in Chicago? ....and how far is downtown from that place as I would like to just walk around a bit.

Regards,

Tomasz

Well the Metal Haven is a damn cool metal store and is only a 5 minute walk from the Vic/Belmont stop. It's reasonably far from downtown. Not walking distance. You could get off the train at Roosevelt, and walk around downtown there. Or go into the loop.

Also near Belmont is Wrigley Field if you're at all into baseball. There are numerous bars/taverns there. You could walk there from Belmont (it would take 10-15 minutes) or you could just take the train to Addison.

Tomasz, I found a better store with better price. I got ripped by at least 20$ at MetalHaven and bought all the other graveland for $12.00. MetalHaven is not a bad store but let me know if you want the site for the other one.

I know the prices are a bit high but as I mentioned before they have stuff others only dream of carrying.

Is it in the Chicagoland area?

Some of the prices are a bit high (I think like $13.99 for most new cds).

However, they have lots of cool rare stuff there.

Hey Burning Creation, which one were you? I was right up front in that little cut out between the PA's, next to two dudes from Salinas. I had a Witchery sweatshirt on until Amon played.

I thought the show was awesome, but then I am biased (even more than you guys are, I think....). We saw the Seattle one. Weird, with Johan missing half his hair, half his beard and a substantial part of his beer muscle, too, but that has nothing to do with the primal scream therapy that the music causes.... I had goose bumps for most of the show.
