I guess I don't mind a bit of speed metal but only bits here and there and in extreme moderation. I just find it bores me pretty quickly!

calling metal church speed metal is a bit of a stretch as well. I can see it, but they are very much more "american power metal" and just pure thrash.

I'd say they fell into that catagory spmewhat, albeit not strictly. Keep your vagina on.

It's difficult to catagorise in some cases. I'd certainly ay painkiller was speed metal, but earlier Priest? I'm not so sure.

I would say a few older Priest songs are speed metal, like Freewheel Burning, Screaming for vengeance, Exciter and maybe even Hell bent for leather.
