Hmm, I'm sure Mikael has ideas and such for the next album.. I think after Damnation was completed, he was already writing within a week or so. Do you guys think they will follow this pattern, or after the success of Ghost Reveries, will they take a bit of a break? :err:

I thought you were dead?

I dunno, I'm sure Mike will take some time off to be with his wife and daughter.

I don't think gay RR will allow them to release a DVD with older songs :/
I don't really think that's true. I think they'd love to release a new DVD, it could get the new fans more into the band and they could mooch money off the old fans with their favorites played live.

It's impossible to say whether he's working on new material as we speak or
not. I remember that in the "The making of D&D" documentary Mike said that
he already had plans for the new album (GR)!

I'm certain they will do something different. They always do, it seems :)
If people think they are going to do another GR type album they will do the
complete opposite. That's the beauty of Opeth. It almost always turn out for
the better in the end!

it up?
It's true they will release a DVD. I don't think it's gonna be with old songs
though, but maybe from a GR-concert. *I HOPE* There will also most likely
be a documentary from the recording of GR (as spoken of in the Session Diary
of "Ghost Reveries" on opeth.com). Man, can't wait for this! :Spin:

I bet that if they release another DVD, it's going to be basically like the shows that are going on now, two or three Ghost Reveries songs (Ghost of Perdition, Baying of the Hounds, The Grand Conjuration), probably Blackwater Park and maybe Bleak if they do the recording soon, some MAYH-Still Life (Demon of the Fall, When, Face of Melinda, and hopefully Godhead's, and The Moor or White Cluster) and maybe Drapery and Deliverance just because they like those two.

a DVD would be awesome!

and another album .. oh well, the albums before D&D appeared with short intervals, but they weren't touring that much then I think ..
so unfortunately I also think we'll have to wait another 2 years or so .. (not that GR can't keep me occupied so long!).
GR was released 2 months ago! and already we are talking about when the new album is coming ... a bit disrespectful towards the band if you ask me ..

Unlike the last DVD Roadrunner can afford to get the rights to play those old songs, they have done this for the new CoF DVD, even got the rights to put some of their sony music videos on it, so I really don't think that will be a problem if and when there is a new Opeth DVD/CD or Best Of CD. This is the best thing about them being on Roadrunner!

I hope that the rumours over a project with Mikael, Mike Portnoy, and Steven Wilson are true. That will be freaking awesome IMO!!! They definitely should proceed immediately with recordings for that mostly likely asskicking album!

I hope the DVD will be more than just another gig... you know, like with all three videos, interviews, old gigs (perhaps even from the orchid/morningrise-era) etc... it would be cool.

Like the Berzerker's DVD. That is the best music DVD you will ever buy. If Opeth made a DVD like that it would be godly.

If there's going to be a DVD of a show it's not going to be on this tour...
It's kinda hard to release a DVD with a substitute drummer(Axernot yes?)
pretty unfair towards Martin (Lopez)...

someone said something about Akerfeldt,Wilson,Portnoy project?
I hope the roumer is true
