After the Progpower festivities are complete, I think I'm going to head to Turner Field and catch the Braves/Pirates game. Although I'm from NY, I am a Braves fan. Last year, obviously the Braves weren't playing in November so I missed out. This year, however, the Braves will actually be home the weekend of Progpower. Since Atlanta didn't manage to sell out opening day, I'm sure that plenty of tix will be available the day of the game. I just have to figure out how to get to Turner Field from The Granada hotel.

Anybody interested in doing the same?

Hey Jammer,

I was thinking if I can get a later flight back to Chicago and stash my luggage somewhere I would definitely go. I have to be out of my room at noon so let me know when the game starts and I'll let you know. Thanks.

Hey Jammer,

Sorry I had to read your post again. I will also be staying at the Granada Suites Best Western so I'm sure we can come up with something. I will let others know as well. Take care.

What to do with my luggage was my main concern as well..luckily, since I'll only be gone for three days, I won't have THAT much......

Game starts at one, I believe. Possibly one thirty.

You'll definitely have to find somewhere to stash the luggage (unless you travel extremely light), because these are quotes from the Turner Field website:

"Prohibition of coolers, as well as bags, backpacks or other articles that exceed 16" x 16" x 8". Articles or bags fans intend to bring into Turner Field must fit within a container of these dimensions. Fans will find these containers at each gate at Turner Field."

"Prohibited items will not be stored at the gates or Guest Relations."

While a Braves game sounds enticing, Sunday the 7th is also opening day for the NFL. After a long three nights of ProgPower festivities, I will probably not arise until just in time to catch the start of the Falcons game at 4:15 pm!

I think that's a great idea. I'm looking for things to do in Atlanta and pad out the time (both in order to fly at "non-peak" times, but also to to just have an excuse to have some fun away from home). That'll be one of them.

Some hotels will let you stash your stuff with the concierge (sp?) after you check out if you're going to be in town for a while longer. I would call the hotel to be sure.
