branikald is one of the BEST black metal bands, but i dunno about this particular album. all i wanna say is if you don't have "rdyandalir" yet, just do it(TM)

Dark Sanctuary - Royaume Mélancolique

Their first full length, beautiful/melancholic stuff..perhaps not as cohesive as their later material but very endearing. If you're into the style any dark sanctuary is worth a purchase really.

the dark sanctuary is OK if you like that neoclassical/ambient stuff with female vocals. but if you're into that stuff, go with Dargaard or die verbannten kinder evas - in darkness let me dwell. both superior bands.

dead can dance is better than all, though they are more world music

i would disagree on both counts, especially dargaard. imo neither band has had a better female vocalist than either of ds's vocalists. In darkness let me dwell is a great album though.

i owned a couple of DS albums, and the music just kinda bored me. it's not so much that either female vocalist is better, but that dargaard's music was more haunting and simply better. that abigor dude knows how to write engaging music.

it applies to this album as well. fuzzy, foggy, keyboard heavy norwegian bm. i would get it.
