Thank You Opeth For The Best Night Of My Life

Opeth is incredible live. I agree. They seem to really enjoy, no, love playing. That is always nice. It adds a great atmosphere to the entire show. The show they put on here in Detroit was flawless as well, which is truly the sign of a great band.

NO DEMON OF THE FALL??

Yes, the played Demon of the Fall in Norfolk. It was after the usual break and "opeth" chants and Mike's assurance that he'd give us some hard stuff. The only one missing from their typical setlist was Bleak. I confirmed this with my girlfriend who reminded me that lots of people left before DOTF. It was a small, tame crowd compared to the 3 shoulder-to-shoulder crowds they had at Jaxx in Springfield. I could get comfortably to the second row in front of Peter and not even get pushed. Only 1 or 2 moshers in the place.

I was at the concert Saturday and it did indeed rule. For those of you interested here is the setlist:

The Leper Affinity
Advent (Sounded awesome!)
Deliverance
The Drapery Falls
Credence
Godhead's Lament
A Fair Judgement

You must have left before Demon of the Fall...

You should have waited another five minutes. ;)

They always do it, man. I was there on the 21st for the same tour, they played the same setlist plus Demon of the Fall.

I really wish they would have played Bleak as well. The show was way too short.
