Black metal. I've become a big death metal fan as of late, but the atmosphere found in black metal acts such as Emperor, Borknagar (semi-black), Darkthrone, Enslaved, Immortal, Mayhem and (early) Arcturus just nails me to the floor. Simply brilliant.

Edit: And oh, I'm quite sure that death metal will win.. And the whole "Is Opeth death metal" debate will probably start again Can't we just agree that Opeth is progressive metal with acoustic parts, subtle melodies and death metal vocals?

Death Metal. I only enjoy the less black Black Metal bands, but I have a feeling Black Metal will prove to be the most popular.

Gah thats a hard one, but im in a more black metal mood at the moment, ive been listening to a lot of naglfar, dissection and enslaved so i'll vote for black metal

Black metal tends to be more melodical... but tr00 black metal its raw, hard and it hits you like a shotgun.. hahaha.. maybe not that hard.

Death metal has more wide range of genres... so i preffer death metal.

Black metal is in my view superior in that it illustrates the romantic on a deeper level than that of death. Death metal is in all rights just as valid/brilliant an artform, but I just connect better with black metal.
