The Books/Reading Thread

I'm currently in the middle of Eldest, the second book of The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini. My son read these and loved them so I decided to read them as well. I knew he would think it was cool if i did and I love Fantasy anyway so I'm slogging through it. It's a bit slow by Young Adult standards but i'm nearly two books in so I'll finish them. Eragon was entertaining so I hopeit picks up.

Before I started this series I re read King's Insomnia. It was just as far out as the first time I read it.

I finished reading Book 2 in the White House Chef mystery series by Julie Hyzy and my sister lent me the first book in the Sheriff Kate Burkholder thriller series that I'm in the midst of now.

Saw this at my local news agency yesterday and made a note to pick it up today once I was free.

It's actually part of a promotional collections series by Eaglemoss that comes out fortnightly, the next title is Hush part 2 and then Superman: Last Son Of Krypton.

Cracked open a beer, in my recliner reading this $7.95 beast.

I finished reading the debut novel from Matthew Betley while at lunch today. It's called Overwatch and it is a breakneck speed thriller. The official release is March 1st but I got an advance copy of the book from the publisher and I'll be doing a review shortly for it.

Where do you guys by your books?

I now exclusively use https://www.bookdepository.com/ due to its free postage to anywhere in the world and practically inexhaustible range. It's just an incredible site.
Mostly the books I wanna read aren't available at places like that. I've bought a lot from Amazon, although they're fucking expensive for shipping. Feral House always has a good range of interesting books, Ixaxar as well for occult stuff.

This isn't just another "places like that" site. It's the real deal. I just did a quick search for Black Metal and got all this:

https://www.bookdepository.com/search?searchTerm=black+metal&search=Find+book

I guess you would just have to dig around for occult stuff. I'm sure it's here though.

As for Amazon - the postage costs are just astronomical so I never buy from there.

Also @CASSETTEISGOD that's why I generally only buy (new) c.ds from ebay as there are plenty of companies on there that include shipping or don't have shipping at all. The days of buying from Nuclear Blast etc for the price of my first-born are over!
