The "controversial opinions" thread!

Why is there no cure for any serious disease? The money is in the treatment.. if no one could get sick drug companies wouldn't be needed..... don't you think they could create a medicine without side effects? they want the side effects to happen so you need more medicine to treat the side effect... fucking greedy bastards...

PS: Yes, I work at a Dr.'s Office... to get a 15 minute appointment to check your blood sugar (for diabetics) it's a 200-something dollar charge (not including the actually blood sugar check...) that's fucking ridiculous.

PSS: I also follow the George Carlin book of hygene, I only wash my hands when i get shit on them.. haha

- The above two scare me.... but I agree.... to one.

- Many indie labels are taking some hideous sounding low budget mix jobs and creating a culture of poor, cost-cutting engineering, which is perpetuated by bands and listeners not knowing any better could be achieved.

Why don't car companies make cars that just don't break? Durrerrrrrr

- While this is less of a "controversial topic" as it is just plain good advise I want to tell all you younger folks out there - get health insurance at the first possible opportunity and don't let it lapse. As someone who has had a very serious illness and knows how much my treatment has cost, and also knows that if I did not have health insurance I would never have gotten the quality of care that I have, you don't want to be looking back as you die or become a burden on society at that moment that you had the opportunity to get health insurance but chose not to. This is probably the most serious of my posts here and it was brought about by a story I just read of a 23 year old girl with leukemia that was refused a bone marrow transplant and will probably die in the next few months unless she can find the funding - by the way a BMT costs about $150,000 to $250,000 for the process - I've had two!! and lots of subsequent follow-up care. Do yourself the favor and never overlook the opportunity for health insurance or think you will not get sick.

Well, I seem to have riled a few of you. Controversial indeed, I suppose.

- The statement I said about soldiers also goes for drug abusers who die from accidentally OD'ing or what not. You dig your own hole, you're going to lie in it eventually.
- Stop glorifying peoples deaths and treating them as hero's. I'd like to see statistics of the number of civilians/insurgents killed, bet it greatly outnumbers the soldiers killed.
- Thinks it retarded to celebrate de Gaule's speech to start the french resistance, and yet condemn any form of resistance by a country we invade.
- Ignoring Hitler's abilities as a leader purely because of the holocaust. He was a brilliant man with brilliant ideas about sociology and economics.
- 9/11 was a callous attack on the American people by the American government, purely to start a war. The same with the previous bombings in 1993.
- We're completely fucked under a conservative government.

here's a controversial statement...

~ it's just as easy to get your ass bounced out of this forum as it was to bounce it in.

I suppose we did ask for contraversial opinions... we got them. Hitler wasn't that bad a guy, you're right. So he instigated the murder of loads of jews, black and disabled people and had great powers of manipulation to turn the country into a war machine, twisted the minds of the young and made the working classes pawns to war... but he saved the economy.

I'm replying to a thread, and remaining on topic. I don't understand the problem.

My post is a lot more relevant than many in this thread.

It's stupid to just see the holocaust. Look past the holocaust, not dismiss. I'm not condoning the holocaust, but that's all people ever think of when they think of Hitler. I don't see the point in ignoring the great things he done, and only focusing on the negative.

And how exactly am I numbskull.

Because I inform myself and make my own choices on what to believe? Just because I don't fall into the norm and accept what other people do?

at what point to you suppose our little community here should draw the line, eh? at proclaiming that the US government slaughtered 3000+ of it's own citizens? no, you clearly don't think that's the line.

at insinuating that that Nazi Germany and Hitler are a model the world should follow? no, you don't think that's a line you shouldn't cross either...

if you have any opinions worse than those... do yourself a favor and, regardless of the context, keep them to yourself.
