NP - Steve Perry: Greatest Hits + Five Unreleased (catchy title, that) - The first four or five songs are solid Journey-sounding hits, and the rest are ballads that get progressively weepier.
One of the best 70's inspired hard rock albums of later years. It sounds like an awesome mixture of Led Zeppelin, a bit of Thin Lizzy and some King's X, all topped by Kip Winger's awesome voice.
NP: Last week's WREKage broadcast. The cool thing about having other people helping out with the show is that there are lots of bands and lots of songs that I can listen to later!
Edit: I just noticed we haven't played Slayer since early December. That's GOTTA be a record.
Every now and then I let my two daughters pick five cd's for the old disc changer. It's a good method as I have a quite extensive cd collection, I often pick the same stuff over and over to play. When they pick it is truly random.
Tonight.... Spocks Beard - S/T
IQ - Tales from the Lush Attic
Edenbridge - Arcana
Saxon - The Inner Sanctum
Alice Cooper - Killer
Great system as I had forgot how much I love "Halo of Flies"....
So glad Glenn mentioned this in his top CDs from last year, because after her first solo disc, I probably never would've touched this. I have to say I'm very impressed with this disc. A lot of good, diverse song selection...with the exception of the cover. Goddamn, she really needs to stop attempting covers.
