well, as much as i understand your position, i think that "smelly" tiltes the balance in favor of daylight :)

Ah, how can you tell Americans have too much fucking time on their
hands?

Here's how Congress: File-sharing and piracy linked to terrorism?

So watch out, when you share those MP3's on a P2P network, you are
really giving money to terrorism...

I don't really see how that can be, but hey, I'm not in the congress,
now am I? ;)

This was definetly the funniest bit tho:

MPAA head Jack Valenti said:
America's crown jewels -- its intellectual property -- are being looted.
Organized, violent, international criminal groups are getting rich from
the high gain/low risk business of stealing America's copyrighted
works. We don't know to what end the profits from these criminal
enterprises are put. US industry alone will never have the tools to
penetrate these groups or to trace the nefarious paths to which those
profits are put. For these reasons it is entirely suitable and necessary
that the Subcommittee ... hold this hearing and illuminate the nature
of the problems and the effect on the copyright industries ...

i find it much more disturbing that usa cancelled the funding of a new nato headquarter in bruxelles (sp?) because their soldiers can be brought before the belgian court for eventual war crimes.
everyone else should be judged by a war tribunal in belgium, but the usa are sort of immune to that? WTF? STFU! RTFM!

and talking politics, i am surprised that cuba apparently wants to declare war on my country, or something like that. no, really, i cannot properly understand how mr castro decided to take a crowd of about 1 million in the streets, rallying against the italian prime minister. i understand he's not the most pleasant individual in the world, and i also understand probably he is not perfectly fit for the job, but when dictators organize demonstrations against democracies, no matter what their leader's name is, i am always a bit worried.

oh no, now we're never going to hear the end of our prime minister's complaints about the evil leftist extremists threatening his life. :erk:
i wouldn't mind such observations when they are true to the facts - for instance, if he just mentioned cuba - but the generalizations claiming i'm a commie because i don't like him are always pretty wild. not liking him personally is common sense, not communism. ;)

Common sense and communism both start with 'comm'.
Commie.

that's a bit like when hyena said about something that that was just manners, not mannerism. i don't really remember if it was hyena who said that, but i think it was a very bright thing to say at the moment so i'm attributing this to her on autopilot. :)

BBC News said:
The United States "will not waver" in its efforts to implement the
so-called roadmap to oil in the Middle East, Secretary of State Colin
Powell has said.

US 'will not give up the oil' on Mid-East

I just copied that title from BBC News, so don't blame me
if it's not accurate ;)

Have to add this:

BBC News said:
The president is committed, I am committed, his administration is
committed - we are nuts after all" he said.

uh.. thanks, o little one. i'm not sure i said that - actually i don't think i did, but it was a good one. anyway, as you will have figured out, i was thinking another phrase

Well, I found this little article quite amusing:
Dear Senator Hatch

You might have heard of the Utah senator wanting to "destroy" the
computers of people who download copyrighted material, this article
nicely compiles all the articles into one nice punch and delivers it's own
addition to it as well.

The conclusion is similar to my belief in this matter:

Senator, I was going to draw a caricature of you, but I couldn't find a
model that could pose with his foot in his mouth and his head up his ass
at the same time. I wish that I were a citizen of Utah so I could vote
against you and will pray that you lose your next election in a landslide.
You are not fit to serve our fine country.

I am extremely excited about how the "reconstruction" is going
in Iraq. I bet US didn't think it would go this well and without
any problems too, they are so lucky.

"We will prevail in the critical front on the war on terror, because the stakes are too high to do anything less," a White House statement said. "September 11 taught us that we must confront terrorists and outlaw regimes with weapons of mass murder before it's too late."

I still haven't seen you do jack about the biggest terrorist regime out
there, I mean, you have the weapons of mass murder, how hard is it
to aim them at the white house?

And notice how it is now "weapons of mass murder" instead of "mass
destruction" I guess their PR people thought the word murder would get
more of an effect, I mean, you _murder_ people, but you _destroy_
inanimate objects.

Well, I missed Vietnam, but this is almost as entertaining.
