We recently announcedRoad to Legend—an upcoming companion app for Descent: Journeys in the Dark that offers a revolutionary new way to experience the vibrant world of Terrinoth. By taking on the role of the overlord player, the Road to Legend app allows you to play fully cooperative games of Descent, where every player controls a hero over the course of a thrilling campaign.

Speaking of minis-based RPGs, excited to find out about this. I bought the base game but hadn't messed with it yet. This should make it easier to start up.

Been playing Race for the Galaxy card game the past few weeks. Enjoying it quite a bit. Got started via roll for the Galaxy with friends ~ a month back, found the card game that flows better imo.

Anyone else play either?

I've got both, I like the dice variant better. Only issue with the dice version imo is the ease of cheating.

Kind of hard to explain what happened, it was largely due to all of us being tired partially i think. It's not a friendly game at all though, the first thing you do each turn is bid against each other. There could just be a set or rotating turn order and the game would improve. Bidding games are frowned upon in my group. And conceptually the game makes absolutely no sense at all. We're leading caravans but we have to leave part of the caravan behind strewn about the desert each mile. Yet if we have 3 people we can't go 2 miles, only exactly 3 miles. Idk so many other little garbage rules, and the rules are unclear about some things. Fakirs are basically worthless and destroyed the resource collecting play style when we had a string of 7 of them on the board. 2 players failed due to rng. The game is really not strategic at all either since you can't plan ahead, 1 person's move changes the board very significantly. You just wait for your turn and see what's there. Eh.

It's a total paste on as far as theme goes so I wouldn't even worry about concept. It is on the tactical side since the board keeps changing.

You could house rule rotating order but it would change the game up pretty dramatically.

Guess I'm the only person on GMDS with hobbies that require talking about other than posting pics (ie Krig and his bikes) or posting in the music area.

Been unable to do much model painting because of school but finally have some time. Ripping through Ravenwing bikes and doing a lot of priming of sprues of various units accumulated over the semester and right before. Downside of winter is it's not an ideal time to do any spray painting outside. Converting a bunch of pushfit preset Ravenwing bikers to either Black Knights or to having some special weapons in addition to just straight up painting. Enjoying the work and clearing some stuff off my little hobby table.

@Dak Do you have any opinion on Age of Sigmar or know people that does? I haven't had the time to play GW-games the last couple of years and AoS doesn't make me want to start again. On the surface it just looks like 40k in fantasy setting without all the things that made fantasy awsome? How close to the truth is that?

Speaking of social hobbies, cube draft night tomorrow. Pretty much the best thing ever!

I never played WHF or AoS (well, I played a little AoS skirmish demo when it came out). My area has a pretty small amount of miniatures players, and I think basically everyone playing a GW product is playing 40k (I have seen someone playing Gorkamorka, would love to play that sometime). According to GW's information releases AoS is doing better than WHF since they released the new "General's Handbook".

Obviously if you enjoyed the troop block maneuvers that's out the window, I don't know how much else has changed.

I don't know if it is the troop block manuvering (as a tactical dimension) as much as the look of the army with rank and filé, spears in rows and banners flying, it just looks awsome and really enhance the feel of the army, especially with races like the high elves.

Well technically you can still line your guys up, albeit not as tight. But it may not be tactical and you'd have to move them individually so a little tedious.

So, played Mansions of Madness for the first time yesterday, 2nd edition with the app. I thought it was really really good actually and alot better than Arkham Horror. The story element and rpg feeling was much better and the game play felt more varied and fun.

Will probably buy it soon, anyone know how good the replay value is or do you get borde after playing through the scenarios once?

At first I thought this was satire.
