I find it more offensive to be called a gay than a fag. I don't mind fag one bit, actually, but "a gay" or "gays" strikes me with such disrespect and scorn it fucking pisses me off like no other. There's a difference between "gay" and "a gay".

Are you offended by the statement "You're gay", in addition to the statement "You're a gay"?

why?

It has some kind of offensive connotation to it. It's like the difference between calling a jewish person "a jew" and "jewish". The former is often used in a very derogatory way. The latter much less so. At least that's what I've observed.
