When I listen to The Sham Mirrors, I would be unable to focus on anything other than the music, so it wouldn't be very wise to put that album on, when I have things to do
I would much rather listen to something like:

Aphex Twin - Xtal
Selected Ambient Works (1992)

when I have stuff to do or am reading/studying
