yeah mike has said (even on the offical website i think!) that the first 2 records were writen by both mike and peter. maybe mostly mike, but peter had alot of imput with the harmonys.

the third record is when the writing in the band shifted to mostly mike.

Just noticed something funny... I was watching the lamentations documentary, and Steven Wilson says something along the lines of:

"I think these albums will be something like a watershed in Opeth's discography"

Not 100% sure that were his exact words, but that wasn't really the important part.

i know this ffs, i thought you'd of all people would read what i wrote up top. that still leaves MAYH, SL, BWP, deliverance/damnation and GR as albums written exclusively by mike.

Hessian can be looked at from 2 different meanings. hessian stood for people who lived in hesse, which is a state in germany. however, hessian is also a mathematical term, so i think it will stand for the latter considering that hex omega is also a mathematical term. ive been perplexed as to why peel follows this word, some sort of coming undone of something, but what?

off topic, the more i look at the song titles and their meanings, this album could either be a loosely or tightly conceptual story. dont diss those who are craving a concept album, they could be right, however, nobody at this point knows anything about the lyrics/story, so we'll have to wait!
