Hi there!

Alright - I will ship the shirt tomorrow, but I need some address info and stuff.
Please send me a mail to: michael@pyramaze.com with your contact information. Then I'll mail you back with an address to which you can send the money.

Oh - and that song is called 'Souls IN Pain' - not 'Souls OF Pain' :D

Best,

Michael.

hey man, no need to get THAT excited ;)

I try not to, but I just can't help my excitement sometimes. ;)

@Michael: Thanks a lot man. \m/

EDIT: Hate to 'hog' the thread but just one more question for any band member:

Do any of you have a standout favourite Pyramaze song yourselves? One which you feel most proud of or enjoy listening to the most?

The entire new album, and from Melancholy Beast I would say Sleepy Hollow and Legend. -j

Ahhhhh man, way to increase my anticipation of the new album tenfold man.;)

My personal favourite is hard to choose as there was no filler whatsoever on 'Melancholy Beast'. Possibly 'Forsaken Kingdom' is my standout though.

Yeah - what Jonah says pretty much counts for me too :D

Although I must say I like them all. I would never write anything which I'm not at the time 100 percent satisfied with.

As a new fan, I have two questions that any band member can answer:
-First of all, being in a band myself, I know that it's hard to do more than play locally. How did first start touring and actually becoming known (not necessarily in Pyramaze, but in whatever bands you may have started out in)?
-Second, is there any chance of you ever selling girlie shirts, or at least smaller short sleeved shirts? If not, I'll just have to buy a large and modify it.

What you should do is: make a demo, eventually on just a 8-track machine, and send it to all the clubs you know (clubs with live facilities that is). Provide them with your contact information and give them a really good deal on your show - you might even consider doing them for free or just for catering and something to drink. When you've done the club scenes for a while, then the word will spread (if the audience like what they hear that is). From there on you might start making money on your shows. Invest that money in a better demo or a self financed album and try your luck with the record labels. This is a long process - have patience and work hard! The actual touring, which your question is essentially about, won't start
until you have a record out. No large promoters will touch you if you don't have something published.

About the shirts - there will be girlie shirts at some point, but we need to work out a better merchandise deal with our companies first. Until then we only sell normal t's and long sleeves.

Best,

Michael

Ah, we've made lots of demos with an 8-track and played at a really shitty local venue for free a bunch of times (and even sold tickets for them). I guess we just need to work on the music then. :tickled:

I can wait a long time for the shirts. It will just make me even more excited when they're available.

Anyway, thank you for answering my questions so quickly. It's always nice when a band shows obvious caring for their fans.

Question for PyramazeGuitar:
I was just reading an E-mail that Ron Jarzombek sent me and I was told by him that I should get a noise gate for my playing of guitar and I am asking you if the noise gate will make your riffs sound more clean and the solos too.
Because when I hear the guitarist of Nightwish I hear a really clean tone and no crappy distortion noise if you know what I mean. And someday I will get A Kelly and hopefully this will be within months.

Hi there!

A Noise Gate will reduce the - well... 'the noise' :D But it will not make your guitar sound more clean. What it can do, is take away all the little "bips -and squeaks" you make while playing the guitar. It simply takes away small noises which it calculates is not supposed to be there. The more active you make the 'Noise Gate' the harder you have to strike the guitar to get a sound. I have only used it in the studio so far, 'cause an album production has to be flawless of course, but many use it live too. It's a really handy thing to have though, but it won't make you evolve as a guitarist if you have a machine make the perfection for you.

Best,

Michael.

Well what I am trying to say is does it give you a better tone. I know it wont give me perfection in playing. But can you hear the notes more clearly.

No - not realy. It just eliminates the noise that isn't supposed to be there.
Hmmm, but then again, the noise reduction makes it sound better of course.

Hey guys! Are there any plans for a live DVD when you tour supporting The Legend of the Bonecarver? I'm a sucker for em'! :)

NOT SURE if Michael addressed this yet, as I'm reading through the old entrys, (Sorry I don't get here much guys ; )
BUT.....

Regarding the LIVE DVD thing, there is talk of a live DVD being done at PROG-POWER VII this year and it promises to be of excellent quality from what I'm told from the Manticora guys that did it this last PROG-POWER.

Hi Michael and Pyramaze!! Keep up that good work. Its great!! But Michael the best song you ever wrote is a song you wrote me 7 years ago and I am still laughing. Oh no no!! I think your hard rock/heavy metal songs are much better. Sounds great.
