The official 'QUESTIONS TO THE BAND' thread

As a new fan, I have two questions that any band member can answer:
-First of all, being in a band myself, I know that it's hard to do more than play locally. How did first start touring and actually becoming known (not necessarily in Pyramaze, but in whatever bands you may have started out in)?
-Second, is there any chance of you ever selling girlie shirts, or at least smaller short sleeved shirts? If not, I'll just have to buy a large and modify it.

Yes I want girlie T-shirts too. I make my own shirts at www.spreadshirt.com

Well, I would say around 8 years. But it's been cut many times in between, to keep the tips from splitting :D If I hadn't done that, I would probably have hair all the way down to my butt by now :D

And thanks for the compliment!

Michael

I guess you're right Michael. I remember you 8 years ago and then your hair was much shorter than now. :):loco:

To Niels: Where do you watch soccer with friends? At TV or at the Old Varderoad ?

To Lance: When is your birthday? I see no date in your profil on the page..or am I just blind?

hey man!

i like your drumming work for both Pyramaze and Wuthering Heights. i consider you one of my favorite drummers. how often do you practice? is it true you sleep with your bass pedals?:loco:

Hey ranma187

Thanks for your compliments! I'm sorry to say that I don't sleep with my bass pedals - my wife doesn't like the smell of oil on the pillow :)
I actually dont practice that much - because of the geographic distance to bandmembers in both bands I only practice when any touring or recordings are going on. But when that happens it is very intense!

I guess I watch soccer mostly on TV. I really don't know what old Varderoad is. Can you please inform me:) ? It really doesn't matter where. As long as it is with friends and beer;)

I chose the name Pyramaze based on a connection of the words 'Pyramid' and 'maze'. I've always been fascinated by the Egyptian mythology, and at some point, when i had to find a band name, I sat down and played with the word 'Pyramid'. Suddenly I found myself with 'Pyramaze' -and that's basically how that happened. I think both 'Pyramid' and 'maze' represent something mystical and powerful, so I found that Pyramaze would be a nice name for a metal band.

DAMNIT! I always thought the band was P-I-RA-MAZE. As in a maze that is set on fire.... which sounds much cooler. Can I keep calling you guys P-I-ramaze? An artist must let his fans interpret the lyrics the way they want... and that includes the band name

If you make me a "bonecarving", I'll wear it on stage ( or hang it off my keyboard). I have no idea what that might entail, so you can feel free to get creative. :headbang: :kickass: :headbang:

that can happen, please email me a address, I will make something special. I dont have a copy of the entire CD yet, may I ask where someone could purchase a signed copy of the entire band made in regards to "bonecarver"?

I would like to listen to it while I carve your piece,it willbe bad ass.

your album cover looks like my workbench, remarkable, those were the shadows dancing around the workshop that day.LOL

then maybe we can talk on coming up with official pyramaze/bonecarver design. plmk. bc

Hey, if you don't want to ship it, drop it off in Cuba, NY, and I can hand deliver it in September for ya!

I don't get up to Wellsville much but I'll definitely stop in when I do. And I'll be glad to hand deliver your creation... who knows, maybe you'll get bombarded with orders after that. Better give me some business cards too~

I have a question for anyone in the band to answer: Why did only the Japanese version of Legend of the Bone Carver get that bonus track? I had to spend an extra $10 to get the Japanese version because I felt like I'd be missing out if I didn't :p.

The japanese market relies on bonus tracks to make sure that people who live in Japan don't order from somewhere else (which is aparently cheaper to do). This way they feel like they are justifying spending the extra few bucks or whatever. Thanks for pickijg up the jap cd (not too many people get to hear that intrumental I wrote). cheers -jonah

It is kinda a letdown when a band makes some great songs that end up being "just bonus songs". Flame and Retribution is the best instrumental the band has done by far and is the perfect close to Bone Carver and really gives the album a cinematic feel. It's like watching the closing credits to a monster epic movie with the soundtrack booming from the speakers around you.

Also The Wizard is a great song from the Melancholy sessions, but it'll be hard to hear that one live. Unless the guys go to Japan to record a live album and bust it out there (hint hint)
