The return of the "How are you today?" thread

No I don't believe him to be a syrian spy, but I do disagree with his healthcare plan and just his socialist agenda in general -.-

lol... SOICIALISM AGENDA. Dude do you pay directly (not with taxes) for the police department, fire department, post services, etc, etc... No? Ok then shut the fuck up with the socialism shit. Unless you stand to lose billions of dollars if the United States actually gets a halfway decent healthcare plan, then you have no fucking reason to be regurgitating that 'socialism' propaganda...

TL;DR:

Coming from a country with healthcare, its a really neat thing...its not that bad.

Yeah, you are right

I saw something on Grey's Anatomy (okay I know it's fiction but I'm sure stuff like this has happened irl before) : the guy loses his job, and his healthcare coverage is coming to an end soon. The night before his coverage ends, he has a car accident... He gets surgery just before the coverage ends but after that, he's not covered anymore and would have to pay for his recovery time at the hospital. And he can't pay because he has no job anymore.

It could be even worse, with people who have no job and can't afford health insurance at all.

Remember Chuck Schuldiner? he died because he didnt have money to pay for surgery, had chemo instead and that's what killed him because it made him too weak.

I will say that if you're poor or don't have money, anywhere in the world, the healthcare sucks. In my opinion, our healthcare sucks too, depending on where you are. When I lived in Kingston our healthcare was pretty good, no large waiting lists or long hospital waits... but here in Toronto it's fucking insanely disgusting how bad it is. But I guess it's still better than nothing, which is what a lot of people have in the US, limited or no coverage and they can't get coverage either in some cases because of pre-existing conditions.

I find this whole thing an enormous display of how much power people with wealth have. It's so obvious that it's the insurance companies (and all the related industries that make a shitload of money operating within the way things are now) that are opposing this. Their money on politicians and propaganda converts ignorant people into some huge IRL botnet of retards.

Toronto being Canada's largest city though, what was the injury for? Longest Hospital wait for me was 6 hours, on a broken arm in the middle of winter.

American health care is simply built to keep the poor people sick. Can't afford healthcare, get insurance. Can't afford insurance? Get a loan, and have your ass literally belong to us for the rest of your life because you were retarded enough to catch that Cancer.

It wasn;t that long ago when i realized how much Americans pay for Antibiotics too. Holy fuck...like, what? How can the consumer not see that something is wrong when a doctor tells you "This pill is a necessity of your life, if you stop taking it you could die, and its reaaaalllly expensive." Jesus crhist what do you people do when you catch pnumonia?!?! It knocked me out for a week with anti-biotics at my side, can't imagine how long I would have been down without them.

In Canada, I feel there is no consistency to our healthcare. Ottawa for instance will fix all your teeth even get you dentures at no cost to you if you can't afford it... Toronto will do an x-ray of two teeth then give you the finger and LOL at you when the dentist says it's gonna cost 2 grand to fix the problem. I mean even in Kingston there was times like you had to wait long, if you didn't have a family doctor then you were fucked (luckily I had one there) and had to go to walk in clinics... I mean I was on the waiting list for 3+ months just to get a cyst removed from my eyelid. Kinda gay.

But my girlfriend is having problems feeling her hands and feet and we went to the emergency room every weekend and waited like 6 hours each time for some retard doctor to squeeze her hand and say she needs to see a neurologist and get an MRI. First doctor referred her to see another doctor who then wrote her a referral to get an MRI ASAP (which, unless you've had a stroke is minimum 2-3 weeks wait apparently), so she calls the MRI clinic to book the appointment (this was back in early September) who then say the doctor can't assign priority and gives her an appointment for December (which after arguing got changed to late November OH WOW). I mean it's retarded, she went back, referred from doctor to doctor again to get an earlier appointment and then those got delayed so it's gonna be November anyways before somethin gets done. CT scan shows nothing, no one knows what's wrong but they just send people that are sick on their way.

Like I said, being poor/not having money for private medicine is gonna get you shitty healthcare anyways, so on one hand it's better than nothing but on the other with all the money that goes into the system it should be a lot better.

Ours is going down the shitter. Conservative agendas :err:
No way in fuck am I paying $20 for a fucking ambulance. I'll pitch $5 for gas, and that's just being nice.

have a date with the xerox girl, nerdy but hawt! wish me luck, i hope i don't get stabbed this time

One of the rare systems in this country that actually works is healthcare system.I never wait to see a doctor, not even a specialist.I dont remember when was the last time when I paid anything in the hospital,as a matter of fact,im getting medicines for free, except for really cheap ones, and its the same situation with everybody else.No matter how much money you have, you can allways get a good doctor for free or for ridiculous amount of money.

We don't pay anything either, but rather my point was you could get the help you needed a lot sooner if you did. If I had like 1-2K I could go to a private clinic and get an MRI done right away.

My family is saving every fucking penny after my brother broke his arm over a month ago. Our current health care system is terribly flawed and needs reform. Cost us over 3k.
