The School/Uni Thread

I love college since I am doing better in it than I ever did in high school. I was always one grade away from a B average/honor roll in HS, but college gives me that extra drive/push to do things and work hard, and I really like that. Add in all the awesome freedom (even though I live in my room at my house :p) and it just rules.

I never got a B in high school.:p

This quarter I'm taking Intro to Stats, Euro History 1789-present, and a journalism class on the Pentagon and the press. I should have a fairly easy go of things. My main issue is finding a job that I actually want.

I like college more too, but my grades are slightly lower.

In the first year of University, while arguably the easiest of the four, it is not uncommon to not do as well as in high school. This wasn't the case with me (I kept a similar 80ish average) but I did find it easier to get the higher marks I wanted starting in year 2 (first term last year I had 4 As and 1 A+). Now it has been only when I have ventured outside my discipline that I achieved any marks lower than an 80.

I've only been on the honor roll once in HS, and that was the first semester of freshman year. I've always been like .2 points away from the 3.5 average needed to get in. And these past years I've slipped a little, and baseball really hurts.

I fucking hate people that are in like 3 sports, 10 clubs and still get fucking straight A's.

@MoL: What year are you in? I'm thinking of trying to transfer/go to law school at Northwestern once I finish the required courses needed for law school.

Yeah, I'm not counting on getting in there. I would really love to go to Washington University for it. It's 20 minutes away from me.

I have been told the same thing. I think I have around a 75 (B) average, and I'm pretty content with that. Having science courses didn't help though.
