IMO Carpenter's Halloween theme is probably the greatest and most iconic horror theme ever. Gives the film such a terrifying and tense atmosphere.

Has been my ringtone on and off for the past 15 years. Only other one ive used recently is Nears theme from Death Note.

funny story. I used to live in some shitty apartment behind a church when i was a kid and the guy who stayed above me was some weirdly religious painter/artist. One day i was blasting Recipe For Hate on my trusty Sony boombox and he came knocked on my door all mad and asked me to lower the music and he took a look and saw the BAD RELIGION CD case and tried telling my mom that i shouldn't be listening to stuff like this, to which he was told to fuck off. That guys was a fucking crook anyway, i used to think he was some awesome oil painter until one day i crept upstairs and looked through his window and saw him copying other peoples work. The guy was a complete fucking fraud.

I'm assuming the French film referred to is Les Valseuses which is on my watch-list. I'm really keen to see it after watching another of Blier's comedies Buffet Froid which is absolutely brilliant - pitch black, dry and so-quick-you-miss-it humour. I wish I could take credit for this review too:

This comedy is so black it has just signed a contract with the NBA and released a rap album.
