This might a tad uh, eccentric. Love some of that 90s stuff etc. Architecture of Aggression really grew on me when I decided it sounded like a great song to cover.

5 favourite Megadeth songs:
  1. Sweating Bullets
  2. Architecture of Aggression
  3. Train of Consequences
  4. Tornado of Souls
  5. The Scorpion

5 favourite Metallica songs, heh:
  1. Harvester of Sorrow
  2. Blackened
  3. Where the Wild Things Are
  4. ...And Justice for All
  5. Eye of the Beholder

Motorbreath > Jump in the Fire > Hit the Lights > The Four Horsemen > Whiplash

Probably. Funny how Jamez and Dave wrote two of their very best and most instantly-memorable riffs before Metallica even existed. If the studio version of Phantom Lord didn't the extraneous bullshit added it'd be in there, it's kind of a Priest ripoff even still but one of the best in its class. Whole album is really enjoyable though, overlength the only problem, No Remorse and Seek & Destroy should both be 2 minutes shorter as well.

Interesting. I will second The Godfather trilogy. I'm surprised you didnt have the first three Alien movies in there as that was essentially a self-contained trilogy too. Even though I don't like Alien 3, the other two carry the day.

Linklater's Before Sunrise/Sunset/Midnight would make my list.

Original Star Wars trilogy (duh).

Last would be Park Chan-Wook's Revenge trilogy: Sympathy for Lady Vengeance, Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and Oldboy.

Leone and Argento would be HMs.

I've always viewed it as a set of four films, not three.

Original Star Wars trilogy (duh).

Might have considered this myself if the final film wasn't so lame with the shitty Ewoks.

some i didn’t see mentioned:
the thing, prince of darkness and in the mouth of madness are sometimes classed as the apocalypse trilogy

i haven’t seen the latest blair witch but i’m a defender of the first two lol

days of being wild, in the mood for love and 2046 is a trilogy of sorts

i’m not a big fan of these but there’s van sant’s death trilogy, haneke’s glaciation trilogy, the inarritu trilogy

some i haven’t seen all of but which interest me:
kairostami’s koker trilogy
hartley’s henry fool and long island trilogies
stillman’s doomed bourgeois in love trilogy
kaurismaki’s proletariat trilogy
ray’s apu trilogy
kobayashi’s human condition trilogy
ford’s cavalry trilogy
hou’s coming of age trilogy
lang’s mabuse trilogy
maniac cop trilogy
a moment of romance trilogy
ozu’s noriko trilogy
hawks’ rio bravo trilogy
wenders’ road movie trilogy
yamada’s samurai trilogy
bergman’s silence of god trilogy
the 36th chamber of shaolin trilogy
kieslowski’s three colors trilogy
all the von trier ones

i don't think so. just searched wong trilogy and it's always the three i mentioned, plus 2046 was always considered a loose sequel to in the mood for love more than anything else. most of wong's stuff is pretty tonally and thematically similar though so no doubt you could make all kinds of good trilogies out of his stuff.
