Themed Mixtape Game

Drudkh - Sunwheel 9/10
Fantastic. I need to get into Drudkh properly.

Patriarch - Dance, Children of the Moon 7/10
Around the circle of fire,
The virgins are dancing.
Mysterious motions.
Sensual radiation.

In the hot loaded air,
The boys are watching.
Burning desires.
Waiting erections.

Sacred Blade - Of the Sun and Moon 10/10
This was actually going to be my submission but I was way too late. Great choice, I adore this album.

Amorphis - Moon and Sun part II: North's Son 10/10
I recently came to realise how much I do still enjoy their 1993-94 period, especially the Black Winter Day EP. This track has everything I want.

Lucis Absentia - Beneath the Falling Sun 2/10
Not doing anything for me.

Bruce Dickinson - Power of the Sun 8.5/10
It really is quite amazing to me just how underappreciated Bruce's solo material is. I especially love this album.

Incantation - The Ibex Moon 9/10
Mortal Throne of Nazarene is so fucking brutal and evil. "Indulgence is eternal under the ibex moon." Hail the mountain goat.

Sacramentum - Moonfog 6/10
I hated the drum sound so much, no balls whatsoever, totally pissed away any of it's potential.

Anciients - Raise the Sun 4.5/10
Fluttery, directionless and safe as milk. Pass.

Rat Attack - Man on the Moon 7/10
I don't believe I've ever heard of this band, vocalist kinda reminds me of early Death SS or something. Pretty damn cool and raw. To the favourites!

Celtic Frost - Sorrows of the Moon 7/10
One of the better songs off Into The Pandemonium. It's like gothic whininess added to classic Celtic Frost instrumentation (for the most part).

Spirit Caravan - Dead Love/Jug Fulla Sun 7.5/10
Jug Fulla Sun is a really killer album, been a while since I played it actually. Really shimmering beautiful stuff.

Atrocity - Sky Turned Red 8/10
I love how prominent the bass is, I only ever heard Hallucinations. This is pretty cool schizophrenic death metal. Gonna have to track this down.

Hades - The Dawn of the Dying Sun 5/10
Drums sound shit, even if they're drowned out by the guitar fuzz, they still managed to sound fruity as all fuck. What is it with bands that have clicky, tap-tap-tapping a stick on my dick drums? Annoyed me the whole way through and everything else presented wasn't interesting enough to bring it back for me.

This list was pretty damn epic, I actually enjoyed it 99% of the time. Shame the game starts to die off with a playlist this cool.

Okay, I moved my ass and decided to finish this one today. I surprised myself I tallied this shit up in just one day, I'm such a lazy prick

THE SUN AND THE MOON THEME

WINNER: @Slayed Necros

TRACK PICK: INCANTATION - THE IBEX MOON

I'm especially surprised by Sacramentum's relatively low position.

Incantation - @Slayed Necros 106
Atrocity - @Sirjack 101
Sacred Blade - @mutantllama 100
Rat Attack - @no country for old wainds 95,5
Bruce Dickinson - @RadicalThrasher 91,5
Sacramentum - @Phylactery 88,5
Amorphis - @arg 86
Patriarch - @HamburgerBoy 84
Spirit Caravan - @Master_Yoda77 81,5
Celtic Frost - @Talos of Atmora ex aequo with Hades - @Dazed and Brutal 80
Drudkh - @Serjeant Grumbles 72
Anciients - @Baroque 68,5
Lucis Absentia - @The Ozzman 65

I'm surprised by the lukewarm ratings for that Sacramentum song too! Especially by Slayed Necros and Old Wainds! It's not far off the quality of FAFtS. I'd have given it a 9.

The averages for the Drudkh and Celtic Frost songs in comparison to the other averages is odd to me as well, given the bands and songs in question, I'd have thought they'd fare better.
