Slayer - Payback 5/10 maybe I'm being a little generous here. Not one of my favorite Slayer albums but fits the theme well and sets the tone.

Razor - Shotgun Justice 10/10 would give this an 11 if I could. Great band, great song, great pick.

Guided Cradle - Revenge of the Orcs 7/10 never heard of these guys but I dig it. Got that oldschool crossover vibe.

Kronos - Monumental Carnage 6/10 decent

Morlok VonGrimorog - Melekron 4/10 alright.....this was a pretty fun to listen to. 15 minutes long I actually made it through the whole thing. Not something I'll probably ever listen to again. I don't really know whats going on here

Rosenfeld - Revenger 8/10 yeah this pretty awesome. I know I have this cd somewhere in my collection in the basement. My wife keeps that shit under lock and key so I don't make a mess and spread shit all over the house but whatever. Probably haven't heard it in over 20 years.

Rigor Mortis - Shroud of Gloom 10/10 this is the kind of stuff I grew up with. Classic for me

Paradox - Crusaders Revenge 7.5/10 mildly familar with these guys. Pretty kick ass

Glacier - Vendetta 9/10 love this kind of oldschool heavy/power stuff.

Zemial - For a Fallen One 4/10 trying to be open minded but its not working. Can't get into this.

Grand Magus - Silver into Steel 5/10 I liked the way this started but didn't do much for me. Middle of the road.

Virgin Steele - Wings of Vengeance 7/10 heard a lot about these guys but never actually heard them. Catchy, I dig it. Will research more

Cemetary - Scars 8.5/10 oldschool sweden shit. Killer

The Shadow Order - Strife For Revenge 5/10 just not for me. Liked the start

Aeternus - Sworn Revenge 5.5/10 same as above. This comes on really heavy and buried me in that wall of sound, but then it just faded out for me

Diamond Head - Am I Evil? 9/10 not much to say kickass song

Black Death - Retribution 9/10 don't know if I ever heard these guys before or not but its pretty damn good. Will research more.

6/10. Virgin Steele seems to have three types of songs. Awesome (uncommon) whatever (fairly common) and jesus fucking christ this is faggy (fairly common) This one's fairly in the middle category.

6.5/10. I'm bumping a couple points off this because I feel like its only vaguely on topic. Yeah, the lyrics have the word Retribution in them but if you actually read them it sounds like Satan is coming to get people for being evil. That's not really revenge, thats his job.

That Black Death song is definitely about Jesus Christ and his followers enacting retribution on Satan and sinners for their transgressions during the battle that is supposed to occur in final days described in the Book of Revelation.

Doomentor - The Tomb
I've said this before but I love black metal that veers away from the ubiquitous 2nd wave sound into something more primal. This, to me, just sounds like pure darkness intuitively translated into music without overreliance on the tropes of any established style. Really disappointed in the middling ratings this is getting, because this fucking owns. To everyone calling this bland or unoriginal, please tell me what this is so heavily derivative of because I'm clearly not hearing it.

Meh. Beatdown vocal cadence like the slayer track. The break was entirely underwhelming as well.

Kronos - Monumental Carnage 4/10
The guitar tone is a bit off for what I'm assuming is supposed to be Brutal Death Metal. The technical flourishes are more tasteful than some bands, but I can't really reconcile with low register and the screech vocal combo. The breakdown was booooring for something that's supposed to get the people going.

Morlok VonGrimorog - Melekron 6/10
lolol I was sold when he dropped that football line. This was kinda fun, but not something I'd ever return to

[TRIGGER WARNING] Really underwhelming when compared to their contemporaries. Everything Diamond Head were about was being out done on all fronts by superior bands.

Was only vaguely familiar with this band. Extremely crunchy for the time!

razor - yeah great stuff, a band with too many great albums to fight over...well...this ain't as brilliant as evil invaders or violent restitution but its ace 8/10

guided cradle - typical old riffs with no real individuality. saying that, the production lends itself to a sound. not something i would purchase 6/10

kronos - l like the sound but the riffs are too stiff. 5/10
