Midnight - Lust, Filth, and Sleaze
8.5/10
Saw these a couple weeks ago. They have their style and they do it well.
Demoncy - Commencement of Dark Crusades
7.5/10
I like necro grim shit, but this is still generic necro grim shit. My interest in the band as whole is piqued, however. I've known of this band for a long time, having a distinct memory of when I first heard mention of it. On the now defunct Gauntlet forum, the resident Beherit-worshipping kvlt dude said "who cares whether someone gets into black metal through Dimmu Borgir or Demoncy" in response to several other posters who though the former was a bad thing.
Ancient Empire - The Tower
8/10
Good
Terrorizer - Corportation Pull-In
5.5/10
As has been pointed out, this song has been used before. I'm feeling a bit more generous about it than I was before, but it's still a repeat, so those things cancel each other out. Therefore, I'll just go with my previous rating for it.
Pantheist - Sloth
9/10
You have to feel music to get this.
Corpse - Heaven Needs Money
6/10
I'd say this was pretty staid by 1990.
Realm - Root of Evil
8/10
Good to have some non-generic thrash to make up for the previous submission.
Hellhammer - Bloody Pussies
7/10
Everyone has to start somewhere. It has a certain filthy, outsider charm, but Tom G Warrior had yet to grow into his trademark snarl. Extra points because it's an important piece of history.
Rainbow - Stargazer
9.5/10
This is the likely winner, but it's not like it's so obvious as to have to the theme right in the title. So there's no sense in resisting it.
