One reason I have found people to resent Christians is actually a form of jealousy. They find the world a very dark place and cannot understand how it feels to have a belief in God/gods and hope for the future. Another reason would be location-specific, if one lived in an area full of aggressively evangelizing fundamentalists. If this is not the case I see no reason to hate Christians or religious people for being so, hence my curiosity.
