things you hate with a passion

and mort you're a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSER for letting raiding dictate your life.

Yogg Saron was the straw that broke the camel's back of raiding for me. You'd think I would have loved that fight being an Affliction Lock(yay Drain Soul) but I hated that bastard. Suffice to say I no longer raid. PvP and mining while listening to last.fm radio is way more fun anyway! Can't wait for rated battlegrounds in Cataclysm.

If that boss turned you off then you wouldn't have much cared for the rest of the end bosses, their heroic modes are much harder.

:loco:

That's why you hate working retail? I can think of many better reasons...starting with everything about working retail.
Also, you have more time in the mornings that nights wtf?

Well, I fucking hate retail because it is retail but I was particularly annoyed about this :p But its okay, my manager approved my schedule requests to be given monday and thursday mornings.

And nah, I almost exclusively work closing shifts unless it is truck day

I just joined a raiding guild with 2 ten man groups focusing on progression, and the group I'm part of I believe I'm the only hunter so I'll be enjoying this :3

I cannot wait for rated battlegrounds either, it'll give me a reason to PVP!

I have no idea what any of this means

Haha, it isn't like real life is really interrupting my raiding because they understand I work retail, I just have an opportunity to become a core raider with them and I've been playing WoW for over 2 years now and just now have that shot so I kind of want to take it.

It isn't like requesting 2 morning shifts a week is such a big deal anyways

What you do in your free time with your own money is your own business, but you are limiting yourself to WoW girlfriends at this point. Not that you can't find love on WoW of course, I have a good friend who is totally serious with her WoW boyfriend.

Eh Mort & Val get it at least. With Yogg it wasn't so much the difficulty as the fight mechanics- especially as Affliction. Wiping and having to do phase 1 over and over again? Compound on that being the DKP officer? Yeah, way more stress than a game should bring. Life is much better not dedicating 3 hours a night 3-4 nights a week.

Sounds like me in 2003. I had to join the Marines to break out of the RL mess that got me into. But I was a badass on Everquest doncha know.

I like how mountain dwarfs get a +2 on saving throws vs. poison and petrification, and also the fact that they have 120' infra-vision.

Oh I see what you did there.

I used to play WoW, it consumed my life. I got lazy, I barely touched my guitar, I barely went out, I got fat, unfit and my girlfriend at the time hated me and especially hated the game. I stopped raiding when my guild was in Sunwell Plateau (Burning Crusade times). I was their Hunter class leader as well. One night after defeating Brutallus, I snapped and gave up the chance of the getting the Clutch of Demise and the Belt of the Forgotten Protector to the next hunter and I quit the game. I've never looked back since.

I then proceeded to start my band, worked more often to save up for guitar gear and other shit I wanted, tried to fix things with the girlfriend at the time (relationship was doomed anyway) and started getting way better grades at university. Quitting WoW was the best decision I have ever made.

I used to work at Target and there were kids and housewives lined up out the door before store opening the day the WoW expansion pack came out. One customer was a middle aged woman buying the WoW expansion pack and she told me all about how her whole family - husband, son, 9 year old daughter - all had level whatever characters. Jesus Christ.

I used to write http://www.wowdetox.com on the backs of people's receipts who bought WoW.

In college my good friend Jeff from Japanese class started being busy all the time. I'd talk to him in class and soon instead of having lunch together after class he'd be running home to play WoW. His 2 best friends on campus were also WoW addicts and they spiraled out of control and spent their whole weekends shut in. After about 2 years of this they quit together. It was lovely seeing them again.

It might be shocking for some to learn, but people that play a game are perfectly capable of having normal lives. It isn't your place to tell them what to do.

Of course not, but there's no law against stating your opinions and experiences regarding said game either. It's just another unproductive hobby like watching movies or shopping.
