Pantera is not as bad as metal fans make them out to be, but they are one of those bands that get you into metal or you hear first. It's new at first when you have never heard metal, but then you look into metal and start to find music you enjoy more. Some people just listen to Pantera,Slayer, or Metallica and stop there and don't look into the genre, these bands fans are similar to people that like Black Sabbath or AC/DC. They're not bad bands by any means.

Are you really prepared to say, by way of example, that no one can objectively claim Beethoven's 9th symphony as better quality than the new Taylor Swift single? It all depends on what your criteria are. For example, if your criteria are quality music is: accesible, catchy, has memorable lyrics, and the pieces range from 3-4 minutes, then Taylor Swift might win.

There are no deductions that can be done to prove which music is better. We can measure complexity, proficiency, and cohesion, but we cannot measure "quality" without providing an antecedent.
