Stoner metal - Electric Wizard, Bongripper, Arc of Ascent, Dopelord, The Graviators, Plastic Gods etc.
Traditional thrash - Metallica, Megadeth, Tankard, Flotsam and Jetsam, In Malice's Wake etc.
Drone doom - Eagle Twin, Monarch, Sunn O))), Black Boned Angel, Moss etc.
Traditional doom metal - Pentagram, Saint Vitus, Pagan Altar, Northwinds etc.
Traditional/'vanilla' heavy metal - Not sure how I could be more specific with this. My taste is evenly spread across 1st wave heavy metal, 2nd wave/NWOBHM, and 90s stuff, and those are eras more than genres anyway. I usually mention Black Sabbath and Danzig in the same breath.
Non-metal:
UK82/equivalent metallic punk from other countries - Discharge, Chaos UK, Dayglo Abortions, GBH, Sticky Filth, Plasmatics, Cosmic Psychos etc.
Old school industrial - Throbbing Gristle, SPK, Einstürzende Neubauten, Nurse With Wound etc.
70s hard rock - The Runaways, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Night Sun, Blue Öyster Cult etc. (in this instance one era hugely stands out)
