I might get in shit for some of these.
Metallica - Metallica (Black Album)
Upon seeing interview with the band and some behind the scenes footage, I just strongly oppose to the whole Idea of this album. I like the Unforgiven, and Nothing Else Matters, but the rest of it is just not Metallica in my opinion. They were about raw gritty metal, then they have this album slam out of nowhere. The album didn't stand for raw gritty thrash, and saying "fuck you" to the whole music scene. It was about doing what needs to be done to get your name out there. I just really hate this album, the same can be said for St Anger. When I heard Lars Ulrich say "I don't think we should have solos on this album, songs without solos is the trend in metal I think we should go with", I instantly turned the video off. I could easily use the rest of the Metallica albums after this one int he list, but how is that for interesting
Damageplan
Probably the main reason why I dislike this album is because I expected a "Pantera II" sorta thing. I was very disapointed, I just didn't like it. I know many many others will disagree, and I understand, but I just could not get into it.
Slayer Reign in Blood
Again, Im going to get bitched out, but Slayer just bores me. Fast furious metal with blistering riffs is awesome, but after 30 minutes of nothing but fast heavy metal, it loses its touch. I'm told its one of the greatest Thrash metal albums of all time, but I prefer Peace Sells or Kill 'em All.
Slipknot - Er the first one
This album came out when I was still in Middle school, I think I was 13. Naturally, alot of 13 year olds I was around thought it was "sic shit!" I really dont get the whole "I hate people everything sucks" aditude of this stuff, and seeing some interviews with the singer just makes me want to slap him and go "Cheer Up Fucktard". Stuff like make-up, stage costumes, and masks has always made me feel as if the band is spending alot of time on their look when they could be spending that time on the music. It just comes off dull and boring.
Lamb of God - New American Gospel
Personal Taste again. I liked the intro to Black Label (first song?), but when the singing came in I was instantly turned off, and the rest of the album just didn't appeal to me at all. My freind who gave me the copy of it (works as a concert promoter for local Metal bands actaully) was very surprised to see I disliked the album.
These are all albums people have given to me to listen to expecting me to like it, and I come back saying how much I dislike them. Maybe not the "Worst" albums ever, but I just personnaly dont like the style of them, or just find them terrible to listen to.
P.S. The only Slayer album I liked was Show No Mercy, I havnt heard much else other than those 2 and God Hates us All, I tend to Avoid them.
